Again - keep in mind - we used a lot of psychedelics back then! We DID just zone out!

No matter matter what we did or how ever blazed or 🥃🧊🥃🧊🥃🧊 we got. We didn't go out robbing, shooting, killing, stealing 🚗🛻 or out to harm anyone. We just enjoyed for the weekend. Ready for Monday morning works

George Clinton, leader of Parliament Funkadelic, told Eddie Hazel to play like he just found out his mother had died (or something close to that), and this was the result. An absolute classic, and a staple on Cleveland FM radio every Saturday night. We looked forward to it every weekend! Rock on!!

I used to hook a wire from my radio antenna to the curtain rod to hear this at midnight, all the way from Pittsburgh... one of the AM stations played it on weekends at 12 back when I was a young shitbird. Might have been a simulcast, i dunno. and if I was lucky, and the sky was clear, I could listen into Dr. Dimento out of Detroit! Glad I'm not the only one!

You are keeping up a tradition. Back in the 70s every Friday night we came home from partying we played this song.

Hello Ace, this is most certainly a band with lots of funk, as its name suggests. lol Maggot Brain is the bands third studio album and also the title of the album. Here's another song from this same album, if interested. "Funkadelic - Hit It And Quit It (HQ)" (by the channel: RocknFunknJazz) in this track you will definitely hear some funk. Love your reactions and your commentary.

Story goes, (Funkadelic fans correct me if I'm wrong,) read that George Clinton said to guitarist Eddie Hazel: "I told him to play like his mother had died, to picture that day, what he would feel, how he would make sense ..."

Genre of this song is “Psychedelic Funk” acts like The Jimi Hendrix Experience also did songs in this genre. Acts like Red Hot Chilli Peppers bought the genre back in the 1980’s.

Check out some jazz classics next, if you please, there's an entire raft of music to explore there but Miles Davis "So What" from Kind Of Blue is another classic that must be heard
