After almost sinking my dad's boat on my first solo boat adventure (I dove in and installed the drain plug before she went to the bottom), I set off for a childhood fishing hole that I have not been to in years. I caught a ton of cool fish but it was the day of smaller catches. The lesson: never go outdoors without a backup can of chili....

Funniest story about a drain plug. My dad went to meet my grandpa to go salmon fishing (we live near Seattle) launches the boat parks the truck comes back ithe floor is 4 inches below water. My dad spent 2 hours cleaning and drying everything before my grandpa got there. He shows up not knowing anything, goes to open his tackle box that he keeps stored under the seat and water comes pouring out. He looks at my dad and goes you sunk my boat didn't you 😂 😂 😂.

I grew up on a house on the rim, and another house a little back from the rim that looks like a space ship. That was my playground in the 70s. I used to go down there and see sturgeon lined up on the bank, often a few dozen. They'd line up by size along that cove on the south side. I caught so many fish down there. On my graduation day I skipped it and caught over 60 squaw fish (that some weirdos call pike minnows ;) on my graduation present fly rod and a streamer with grizzly hackle wings and silver body, forget the name of it. Killed them all, they suck. I hooked a HUGE trout, probably about 26 lbs in a creek that used to flow from the rim before the guy who owns it buried the creek and ran it all down to power an electrical generator. I caught so much great trout down there. People caught several trout there around 6 - 8 lbs. Love this vid. Like ol home video.
