Why is it that everything tastes so darn good when out in the woods! I swear, the simplest things like a slice of potato and a few onion rings cooked with fresh trout is hands-down so much better than a 5 star restaurant. The fresh juices from the fish, and the simple herbs we pack. Amazing. And the sky always is beautiful, too, when eating what we catch, sunny or not. It feels like the trees cradle us as we feast at out campsite. After a few hours, we learn the birds' territories and learn to use them to warn us of what may come that we can't see, because we are one with the land. Nothing is better than that when out at a campsite.

i really love how ace is always emphasizing how his viewers need to go out and do this stuff themselves. we really do... all of us. there was a time in my life where i basically (although inadvertently) lost contact with nature completely. i was miserable i didn't realize why... among many other things, fulfilling those primal urges and instincts by re-engaging with the outdoors changed my life forever and for the better. it is hard to even articulate the importance of it, and that isn't a subjective thing - it goes for everyone (even if they say they dislike the outdoors).

i was fishing the kern river years ago and i caught a huge what my dad thought was trout but it had more of a salmon look to it later i found it was provably a silver salmon had the pink meat was like 24 long and had that salmon beak which is why i was thinking wasnt trout it broke my dad off instantly i casted a marshmellow up the little waterfall it came down and he took it i made my dad mad that day lol ...try marshmellow they float up out the weeds and i use to get them in different colors and flavors they provably still have them if not the little white ones work great also another great trout catcher is a worm but theres a little plastic bottle with a syrnge top you stick the worms with it and pump air into them making them float both great bottom rigs for trout and the worm blowing works good for catfishing also
