I appreciate the way you genuinely show us how to do things and it’s heartfelt - not as some who seem to care more about how they look on camera. You’re truly showing us real things that we can do and offer great tips. I can feel your down-to-earth spirit, if you will, and it’s refreshing. Thank you for including us in your life!

Loved all of this! I do not have a green thumb either, so keeping real plants alive is just intimidating. Hats off to you for trying! This is just my POV, but as a reader, I despise the backward book trend. Your book choices are as interesting to me as your family photos. Thanks for great content!

Great tips!!! My mom always made and still does in our family home, clean and fresh. So I do the same in my home now (my family are clean freaks lol). One tip she gave us was keep your outside looking presentable and beautiful, because that's the first impression to anyone. Love your plants! They don't look fake. Excited to see your living room . It looks beautiful now. You're amazing, real and sweet lady!

Regarding bathroom hand towels; I prefer to use disposable hand towels when I have company and multiple people are using the washroom. It is kind of yucky to dry your hands on a wet towel that someone just used. Love your videos!

I purchase disposable hand towels. Amazon has many to choose from in keeping with the theme. I just can not use a damp, already used hand towel. The thought grosses me out.

Hi Leslie, I stumbled onto your channel last night. I couldn't sleep thinking about a spare room I have where I store all my art canvasas and art supplies. It takes up the whole room. You were talking about mind set and making a difference organizing your basement in one day. It cleared my mind and it lifted the albatross around my neck and emotional attachment. So Thank you. Hours later I am still watching you. I just think you're great.

Hi Leslie, I love your channel and style. I’ve been decorating with live plants for years and placement, according to species, is important. Many plants will thrive with direct sunlight and others will not. There are many reliable online sources to refer to for specific watering , feeding and light source placement. Also, if you have pets in your home, select wisely as many plants are toxic for pets that may chew the leaves. When I have company, I place several decorative facecloths, in a basket, on my bathroom counter for guests to use. After use, they place them in a small laundry basket. I like your idea of decorating with books. If you don’t want the book title to be displayed, my idea is to cover the book with decorative wrapping paper (solid or print) or leftover wallpaper. I agree that a pleasant fragrance in your home is inviting . I will brew a pot of water with cinnamon and nutmeg to add ambiance instead of burning a candle; of course, a batch of homemade cookies will also be welcomed.

You make great points. One thing I alway think when approaching the front of homes is people forget to clean outside or just inside their front door area. Those areas get so dirty if left unkept. This past spring we had so much pollen that I was wiping my front and garage doors daily. They are fibreglass and metal that look like wood, so the were yellow everyday. Also if you have dirty windows it makes your house look run down. Cleaning makes all the difference. As for smells, you are so right. Some people cook very smelly foods and when you can smell it as you approach the front door…whew!!! Diffusers are good for getting rid of those smells and don’t just mask them. Great tips Leslie. Always enjoy your channel.

I’m addicted to kitchen tea towels!😄 They are my weird weakness. Buy them on trips, etc. …or if I just happen to see a really cute one at a favorite gift shop or Tuesday Morning, I splurge!👍🏻 You can never have enough…and they truly add a pretty pop to a kitchen! I’m a pillow nut, too!😂 Thx for your fun videos. Have a great weekend.💕 Oh! And I use books in many spots in my house, also. But I just make sure it fits with the room and prefer showing the title/binder side. Adds warmth, I think. Or maybe I’m just getting old and not used to the new trends?🤷♀️😂

.....Giirrrrllll....I am " all about the pillowing "... lol. Everywhere. Yepppp. And tea towels, I rotate them according to Season and they are " for pretty ",and have certain other ones that look nice, but are for everyday use. 🙂 My glassware is out on shelving, so they are spotless, ( vinegar is your friend, lol.. whether washing by hand or in your dishwasher). I use clear Solo cups as well, I don't care for the red ones, except for 4th of July. I actually use " guest napkins " paper towels in a pretty holder made just for those, I'm weird like that, I only have the cloth hand towels " for pretty ". Love how real you keep it, and that you are so sweet to the Furrbaby, during filming. 💛🙂🐶

Good tips...thank you! l like your living room very much...you have a beautiful home. l think alot of us are a bit guilty of not getting the most out of our furniture etc. but it is hard when things start to look tired and we see the next styles and trends. About plants, it's all about the light that they need (and not overwatering them) l would find it difficult to spend money decorating if l went from full-time to part-time hours at work. l am so interested in following how you and your husband are doing. Consider getting a moisture meter to determine when your plants need water. Usually watering once a week is fairly safe, but some plants need more and others less. It all depends on the dryness verses humidity of your home. I only use red solo cups to start my tomato seedlings in the spring. Commercial air fresheners and spray contain many dangerous toxins. A diffuser for natural oils is the nicest way to add pleasant smells to your house. Frequently opening windows, to air your home is a great way to keep stale smells moving out. I have a stash of guest hand towels and unused tea towels for the various holiday seasons. Thus way guests only use what we don’t. Great video….I like the “view your home like you were company” That’s such a great way to get perspective and really see what your home needs. We do tend to get used to things and no longer see or judge the state of our home.

You are so adorable...love your ideas, You have such a beautiful home. The secret to real plants is to give your house plants food every two weeks. I use miracle grow and I only add 1 teaspoon in a gallon of water, do not use more than what it says on the directions. more can hurt the plants. you will be amazed at the difference., you will see. As far as the plant you have had a long time I think it is called a phelodenrum, the secret to that is do not let it grow too long, cut it back and it will love you for it. I have had mine for 25 years and when it starts to hang long I trim it, and it fills out nicely. Also, it does not like direct sunlight, it is more of a shade plant or indirect light. I am new to your channel and have been binge-watching, absolutely love watching your videos.

I agree with all of these and try to follow them. The smell is the hardest for me. I have Parosmia, which is a distortion of the sense of taste and smell. To me, my house smells strongly of onions! Others tell me it doesn’t, but it does to me. My husband lost his sense of smell years ago, so he is no help in this. I light candles and use air fresheners and just hope for the best.
