Honestly I didn't look at his kit past the first "dreams" because I already decided to pull based on him being a healer so I was confused watching this video...I still think he looks like a great character but I already have Pela and SW so I'll skip him now...hopefully they eventually release a nihility character with some healing capabilities so I can use a harmony character with Acheron. DoTcheron honestly got even stronger so I'm happy. JQ is the fastest stack generator in the game for Acheron so the already good DoTcheron comp gets EVEN better. Fastest stacking team in the game for E0.

Pela can give 10% if you are planning to run him with her. Also, Eyes of Prey can give 40% and his trace has 28%. EHR body has 43% i think so you only need 19% or 29% without Pela.

I'm not an F2P, just a monthly pass spender but considering I don't even have BS' sig or great EHR LCs, idt the 120% is that big of a deal. I have 6 EHR rolls on her with the Pan-Cosmic set and an S2 Eyes of the Prey. She's at 120%+ EHR. I just built my Jiaoqiu without prefarming and gave him my SW's set. 5 EHR rolls and S5 Tutorial. He's missing some of his traces but he's at 133% EHR. The Tutorial LC does help tremendously but if I had better relic RNG, the 120% wouldn't be so difficult. I think people are just overestimating it and imo, 120%+ EHR isn't an issue for end game stats

One thing worth considering if you're somewhat lacking with gems; It's mentioned how despite not always being a huge damage increase over the 4 star options, he has ease of use and uptime to beat them out, only getting a bigger difference in strength through E's and S's which throw the 4 star options out of the equation entirely.. BUT Remember that you might not always want that constant uptime free damage playstyle. I often forget how fun it can be to min max 4 star options and make them as useful and strong as they can be, and though it requires more "skill" or at least consideration, it can be very rewarding and ultimately save you a lot of resources which then go into your DPS, leading to overall way better DPS. Obviously go for who you like, and do what feels right for you, but consider what you enjoy with the combat. I've often ended up regretting spending so much money on higher eidolons and signatures because in the long run it just dilutes the need to actually play the game. Sure we're getting more challenging content which you want to clear, but doing this doesn't require spending at all, just some structured budgeting with your farming and spending of gems. I want to tune into that playstyle going forward, only spending to get the base copy of characters from now on. I whaled for e6s1 Acheron in a sort of heat of the moment thing, blowing my months budget and putting myself in debt (I know it's retarded) and I know this isn't uncommon in the gacha sphere. Not only did the irl cost affect me a lot but in game she's been less fun to play than on my free to play alt after a while. It's fun to see big numbers and potential playstyles, but it quickly makes playing other characters without whale investment feel underwhelming in comparison and cheapens the gaming experience. I know this is obvious to a lot of you, but I just want to throw it out for those it applies to. Also we're getting a sick new DPS soon!

Also worth noting : Jiaoqiu has good synergy with Guinaifen. For starters, they are both Fire units dealing decent Toughness damage : pretty useful for targeting a specific weakness. Moreover, Guinaifen : _ increases Jiaoqiu's DoT with her E2. _ detonates Jiaoqiu's DoT (in AoE). _ reduces Jiaoqiu's EHR needs to 138%, even with his signature LC. _ her Firekiss will stack up twice as fast with Ashen Roast.

Also worth noting for Resolution, as far as I can tell attacking an enemy again while the LC's debuff is already on the target does not trigger a tick on Acheron's ult counter - you have to wait until the debuff drops off and then reapply it for it to give her an ult point. This has been a mildly annoying aspect of basic attacking with Pela in my Acheron team.

I've been a Nihility main since 1.1, and while he may not be an upgrade to Ruan Mei for me in a DoT comp, she's pretty much permanently chained to Firefly for most runs in MoC/AS, so between Acheron and Kafka (if Firefly is on another side for MoC/AS) then he's still a solid option for my account.

Reading through some of the threads in these comments is just BAFFLING to me, it's like people wholeheatrily believe he is BAD, and at this stage, no numbers, video clears or stats will change their mind. The community is so bias against this character and it's been a while since I've seen people downplay a unit that makes one of the BEST DPS in the entire game, BETTER, and more comfortable to play and in more modes. Not every unit can fit every dps or team, isn't a support that enables the best of the best to be ... better, a good thing to those that like Acheron and want to run her longer and longer into each meta? For some that have every other possible option, yeah, he might only be a slight upgrade, but as somebody with s5 sweaty Pela, SW and e0s1 Acheron, I cannot wait for him! Am I crazy for thinking even at E0S1 JQ is great for DoTs? Gwen’s burns are get blocked by resistences, but Ashen Roast applies regardless. Kafka+BS+JQ+Sustain seems pretty good on paper, particularly because RM can’t be everywhere at once AND we still don’t have a DoT focused Harmony or Sustain. So, JQ seems like a fair option to give dmg amp alongside BS’s def down for Kafka, while adding a third (or fourth) DoT to explode

So, in DoTa e6 Guin provides nearly the same damage amp as e0 Jaioqiu(30.4% vs 35%, and if you want to include his lightcone... It also goes quite well on Gui) but much higher personal damage (her multiplier is higher, and she can detonate both her own, and Black Swan's Epiphany. Not the base Arcana, only during the ult. Note that the higher dot multiplier also means that Kafka's detonations hit harder). He only gets ahead in DoTs in fights where Gui can't consistently keep her dots up. This is a fair amount, though. Burn immunes alone aren't really a good reason to pull for him, but notably in Pure Fiction the enemies are just dying and being replaced too quickly for Guinaifen to maintain her burn on them, while Jiaoqiu burns them on entry during his ult (which is most, if not all, of the time)

Gwen is great and is among my favorite characters, but that fire/burn resist that some enemies have really hurts her efficiency

He works decently as a replacement to Ruan Mei and Robin. Thing is with Robin + Huohuo you are gonna run into SP issues 9/10. Ruan Mei is better then Jiaoqiu, but she’s also staple for break teams. I wouldn’t recommend pulling Jiaoqiu for DoT specifically, but it’s not a bad option if you need your Ruan Mei for FF or Boothill or if the side your using Dot on is weak to Fire. Only problem, you can’t build him for Achreon and for Dot really. It’s either one or the other unless you wanna switch relics back and forth. I personally do think it’s overall better to build him as a support rather than Dot dps. Since support is universal while Dot is niche. But if your very invested in the idea of dot Jiaoqiu, then he’s decent.

you can, both builds just require ehr (to apply stacks) and the next best thing is atk or fire dmg, the err can be used or not too. by getting ehr (which is what he needs) you apply the debuff more often AND you get more atk via his trace, making the same build useful in both dot and acheron (plus, prisoner works for both)

If you want more bulk, that's fine, but you don't need to go for bulk if you don't want to, and probably want the damage increase for DoT specific teams.

If you use E1 Gepard on Trend like I do I doubt there's many if any situations where you'd get another ult off. Those would be the above mentioned super cringe enemies that don't attack.

And it's even easier to manage with Jiaoqiu instead of Black Swan : _ using an Abundance with Multiplication no longer has an opportunity cost (you don't need Trend LC anymore) _ there's less pressure for Kafka to use her skill (you no longer care about stacking Arcana).

I actually pulled e0s1 jiaoqiu for future use I tried him on dot and noticed he actually cleared better than my Ruan Mei! Though I do have a well invested swan and Kafka he did allow me to hit 40000 points on side 2 of current pure fiction where as Ruanmei was only letting me hit about 31k points

you can clear same amount of cycles with a proper sw pela team wind set compared to e0s1 jq pela. done multiple tests on private server. just save your resources and worst case scenario you lose 1-2 cycles on a rough moc. a good acheron can clear anything in 1-2 cycles anyway.

He has four uses, replacing topaz in dr ratio team due to not enough debuffs ie only 80% follow up chance. Replacing ruanmei in DOT teams, being a feixiao buffer due to 50% vun shred and also tied with tingyun for supporting yunli. Finally you can use him anywhere pela is used and he will be an upgrade.

I swear i was getting acheron ult almost every turn. I didn't watch the full guide, because I'm not that interested in the character. But I checked the comparisons with other teams, but would have liked to see how JQ does compared to the Pela+SW+trend sustain teams. The biggest advantage of JQ imo is replacing Trend, so I would really like to know how much of an upgrade he is over a trend user like Gepard. I know this depends a lot on assumptions you would make of what kind of fight it is, but I feel like it would still be informative to show a few different scenarios (e.g. 1 fast boss like in AP, many small enemies like in PF, 2 elites and 1 boss+elite like in MoC) so people would get a feel for when JQ is better and by how much. Just saying I gave the JQ team 1 more ult does feel a bit too reductive, since I still have no idea how this applies to the various endgame modes.

For Planar ornament, Forge of Kalpagni also deserves a mention : _ Jiaoqiu really wants the speed. _ 40% Break Effect is nice for any Fire unit with good AoE (since Fire Break is more frontloaded, it's good against mobs)

Like it really often happens that in gachas, when people want to save for later units/don't like a design/ don't think they'll get enough value for their account, they'll just say "I won't pull for this unit because they're mid/trash" or "easy skip", which then will get repeated by everyone in an echo chamber kind of way. then some people who ARE interested in said unit then would think "oh, I hear this unit kind of sucks. I like them but I heard they're trash everywhere, so maybe I should skip" If you don't want/need a unit, simply say you don't want/need it. It's that simple.

His supportive kit is actually kinda good. But then again, he's an upgrade of Gui.. I agree. (I was a Jiaoqiu doomposter) But by the time he's out, most players already has a well-built Acheron team. Getting him would be redundant. Yes, his kit gives stronger amp than Gui. But things to take note, Gui is cheaper, more flexible and easier to build. Jiaoqiu needs a massive amount of EHR and not very flexible for different teams. Not to mention, Feixiao banner is after him.
