Acheron Trailer - "Your Color" | Reaction & Analysis! (Honkai: Star Rail)

I think the main aim of the trailer is to, other than to obviously showcase the character, but convey that internal struggle she has regarding her past. If she's a self-annihilator that means she's likely slowly losing her memory as she just carries on through the galaxy and if you take the dev stream into mind they talked about a black rain that slowly washed all color away until it was only black, white, and grey. I think with Acheron slowly losing herself more and more to Nihility she loses more of herself, loses more of her color; compare the Mei applying makeup in the brief flashes to the Acheron of now and how muted in color Acheron is. I think "apply your color" being driven home again and again with the "find me" is some kind of internal piece of her wanting her to find herself, find her color, her hope, her drive again. At the end of the myriad celestia trailer there was that final line of "I knew this world was fleeting...and yet..." The and yet I think implying there's still a piece of hope in her that hasn't fully died yet, struggle though it constantly does amidst a storm of Nihility

​@@Kodlawhat's crazy is that we might've already met her. The version of her still holding on to hope might be the one we met at the very start of Penacony. She mentioned that we would find ourselves in a world of black and white, and if we struggled through it, we would see a streak of red in the midst of it. I've always seen this line as foreshadowing that something happens to us that puts us in some depressive spiral, especially after Cocona's side quest, but if we don't lose ourselves in the pain, we'll find a way out, our flash of red. With the above theory relating her loss of colour due to Self Annihilating, it's interesting that the only colour that remains IS red.

Acheron may still be relying on that hope, even if it may be unconsciously, but I do believe that red does represent her hope.

I love that you can see Self annihilator if you look closely on her introduction name/art. Also, fun throwback since this is the Masked Fool meeting she mentioned when we run into her with Black Swan I also wonder if this is a hint that IF we get a second "Mei" like Bronya, it'll actually just be Acheron recovering. The other Mei in the trailer seemed more explicit or had a lot of presence than just a representation of her past self

Lots of subtle details in this one, they were cooking *hard*: When the car drives by, the reflection is of Acheron's white-haired form, with red flowers where her shoulder guard is. As well, the advertisements have a different woman in them during the fight and after. At the end, the woman is a Halovian, like Robin and Sunday. In the middle, she has 1 red horn. The woman doing her makeup has a kimono/obi (belt) with the same nihility flowers as Acheron and the Pioneer 4-pc set; you can see it when she closes the makeup mirror. You can see when Acheron kicks that she has a snake design on the bottom of her boots. Someone already mentioned it, but her character card has "Self-Annihilator" in the background, bottom right.

I feel like the line: "Find me, my end your origin" means her old memories (?) trying to tell her to find it. Like Archeron now is the "end", the result after of what happened while the "origin" is the the woman on screen ( Archeron before, maybe?). But Archeron kept refusing that call, saying "Everything will return to Nihility." means she has given up and lost her hope.😢 Just my own take from that line tho, so maybe other people have different opinions about it.

23:38 Yeah, I've seen a bunch of people theorizing about her being both Origin and Finality. My personal take is that, after defeating her world's Kevin/The End and being the only remaining Herrscher-like being in that world, she acquired the Authority of Finality. Notice how her white/ult form not only has white hair, but also the black blossoms reminiscent of Kiana's HoFi form, though with a red hue instead of purple. Like, silver/white hair is nothing special in anime-adjacent media, but putting it on Mei of all people (up to now always depicted with dark hair) and adding the black blossoms seems like a nod towards Finality Kevin and specially Kiana's Herrscher of Finality. At this point, I am just hoping her world's Kiana was not somehow subsumed/absorbed into Mei and she just can't remember about it. EDIT: also, I do not believe this is a case of split personality, at least not in the way it is usually depicted. She mentions this somewhere in dialogue, but when Acheron draws her sword she actually remembers stuff, as if the sword holds her memories. It's not like she becomes a different person, but with her sword drawn she actually achieves clarity, remembers things and becomes focused, contrary to her mildly befuddled and almost sleepwalking usual self.

I think that sparky puts her in a double illusion. First one is with the Hunters, you can see that the buildings are leaning and messed up, it's obvious, but then after the judgment cut, she wakes up to a "normal" penacony. She realizes that it's not true, maybe because the advertisement was showing maybe her past self like you speculated, and then unleashes ult to completely break it and go back.

I don't know if you noticed, but at the end of the CM, you can literally see the wings of Robin on "Acheron's" head. I assume the whole CM is actually CM of Robin, but Acheron/Mei can see her past self at that moment. It's very well done because you assume before that moment that Acheron is doing that CM herself, when she's likely not. Just wanted to add this!~

That moment where she crushes her own head sticks out to me, bc I like to think that the colors leeching out represent her memories unintentionally leaking out, which is why in the next sequence she seems to remember herself in the advertisement more clearly and gets clearer flashbacks. It's such a cool detail. I love how there's so much to interpret about her character and trailers, truly god's (Hoyo's) favorite princess.

I didn't notice the images from Kyoden before. I think the whole black hole scene is an artistic way of showing how Acheron "self-annihilates" her memories of the past to remain sane. She's said before "only when the sword is drawn, those old memories come back".

the reason I think we hear Sparkles laugh is because we are spectating through Acherons perspective, she can sense Clockie in game so I wouldn't be surprised if she's the only one can see through Sparkles illusions

There is a possibility that she is sensing Misha because after saving her and Misha, Acheron looks towards Misha and not at the ground where Clockie is (Misha also looks back at Acheron). After Acheron leaves, Firefly talks to us like Misha isn't there and when we went to save Acheron and Misha, we say they're all people we know, Firefly questions "they" since she probably onlu sees Acheron. There is a theory that Misha is the watchmaker or a descendant of the watchmaker, since Misha's trailers mentions him being good at repairing clocks, which is an odd detail.

usually hoyomix music have up and down. but when it was showcasing acheron in nihility form, it only kept going up without stopping and maintained its “highness”. im not sure how to explain since im not a music expert, but the vibe it gives me is really unpleasant. its like when youre listening a song, there are hype and also rest somewhere in between. but when nihility appeared on screen, the music was only hype and no rest. its like saying the endless suffering that brought forth

You are wrong Acheron can turn everything into nothingness. So obviously she can destroy time , space , reality , matter , soul , power everything into nothingness. If Blade wants true death only Acheron can deliver that Jinglue cannot. She single-handedly defeated Black swan in mind battle . Remember black swan is strong when she enters others mind but she got defeated. Also Sparkle who is more powerful than kafka in creating illusions and mind control also got defeated. Acheron completely obliterated the illusions.
