What plants do you plant around the margins?

Water forget me not, Marsh marigold, corkscrew rush, water horsetail, fibre optic plant, purple loosetrife . Planted lots of different varieties. I leave in pots and screw to side of pond on wood that dits on top of liner so top of basket is just submerged. This stops fish getting at them. They seem to do well like this

No I haven't. Never seen one in pond. Assuming it's because they are raised.
