Honestly, YDYD sucked. I mean, it had great potential but once they lost about half the crew, they seemed like they just started dying intentionally to end it early. That and the ending was probably on of the worst endings to any of their series. The one for SkyFactory was way better of a series ending.

Jack probably didn't see it since it blended with the sugar cane, and he was focused on something else at the time (you can see him fiddle his hot bar from Gavin's point of view). While Gavin's death was on accident even if they were probably planning for him to die, the issue is that Gavin fell the right height and surprised even Ryan.
