Salty Michael is awesome because not only is he always willing to give a fresh dose of perspective, but he brings up a fair point, too. I get that Matt doesn't think of it as a big deal since he's already made a pact with the Devil to win by any means necessary in Mario Kart, but for the rest of AH, just getting themselves in a position to even _start_ the challenge is a challenge in and of itself.

How this challenge could be improved:Have a 2nd player camp the item boxes until they get a blue shell. Then the challenge can be started whenever they want.

You can only get a blue shell between certain distances from the leader. Too far back and it won't give it to you.

I've actually done this one before. At least in the Switch version, the Blue Shell actually breaks after it makes one full trip around the track, so it's really easy to know exactly when you've done it.

A more relevant metric is the seconds from the moment the shell appears on the radar. About 10 seconds for Michael until finish, and about 6 for Matt until it catches him (not counting the animation since it doesn't matter).

Character choice might affect this too... looking online (assuming this is MK8), Rosalina should be slightly better than Pink Gold Peach (she has a TAD more acceleration and the same speed) or any of Bowser, Wario or Morton for just speed. I forget if vehicles also matter. I think so.

Suggestion for future format of the show. Don't have Matt be the only one who's seen it done. Each week, have someone else from the crew pick the challenge, and knows how it's done, and let the other 3 struggle a bit, including Matt.

I have played on 100 and managed to beat a blue shell a couple of times recently. I would like to see them do a challenge where they try to find all the ways you can beat a blue shell. I have personally times a mushroom right as the blue shell dropped and caused it to miss. Another challenge I saw a few years ago is the Arya Stark challenge in PubG. This is where every time you make a kill you completely change your entire load out and clothes for what the person you killed had.

I would say a cool thought for another show like this would be called "Challenge Wars" SO you take someone like Matt and he picks anything and makes a challenge out of it then challenges someone else in the office and if they beat it then they get to challenge someone else but if the person cant beat it that challenge goes to the next person in the office and if no one can do it then they get a point

There's only been one time i was able to outrun a blue shell. I had a mushroom and i timed it wisely. I let the blue shell circle above me and as soon as it started to beam down, i used the mushroom and got out of the blast range.

It is possible I did multiple times back when the game came out. The trick is to time your boosts wisely. Idk though maybe the game updated since then.

Blue shell spawn rates are based on how far the person in first is to the rest of the pack. If you are miles ahead the blue shell spawns. Also, it is actually possible to completely despawn the blue shell because it never hits you on 200cc. I have out run and out boosted the blue shell before but I learned the despawn part from Did you know gaming.

This has got to be one of the worst and least thought out Challenge Accepteds yet. Michael is right most of the challenge is luck on if you can even start the stupid challenge. Regardless, I liked this video because I still enjoy watching Michael and the other achievement hunters just playing games. Edit: What is even worse about this is that lightning is more common for CPUs to get when you are farther ahead because power ups are based on the physical distance from first.

Back when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe released it was possible to outrun both red and blue shells on 200 CC but it was quickly patched out. It was also difficult to do as you had to drive perfectly and we all know how hard that can be on 200.

Gavin has been Slow-Mo-Guying as Dan is around, so it’s the perfect time to film stuff. Jeremy is no longer full time with AH. During the pandemic, he and his wife moved to MA to be nearer to family. They are super family oriented and have opted to stay there. He’s flown back for some bigger productions, and will continue to do so, and he does join in games remotely from time to time. He’s part of the AH family, but no longer regular
