I always thought the Pokeballs were a transportation system to a specific area where the pokemon could still do what they do, but be battle ready, kind of like how the 'boxes' look like fenced in areas.

they cant make it bigger, its made up of the curved ramps from cunning stunts. the ramp only goes that big, all he did was make a ring of them, then again but flipped, also if it were bigger the bikes wouldnt be able to do a full loop.
