Jimmy is the epitome of a tortured genius during these songs, particularly ALS in view of the impossible job of recreating the studio version with its layered overdubs. Considering his physical condition, he does a heroic job. I have to say, in the crowd, listening to this coming up of a 200,000 watt PA system, the earth moved.

I don't know any Zeppelin fan who isn't completely rooting for every note Jimmy is pulling out of that guitar. Everyone knew back then that he'd been deep into the extra-curriculars for awhile, and at times found himself in the weeds. But his immense artistry always found its way to the surface, and at this point he really had to wring it out of himself at times.

Another of their "greatest of" live performances. I defy ANYONE to listen to that and find a single shred of evidence that Bonzo is within a few short months of dying from alcohol...he is a TACK DRIVER. Thanks to y'all for taking us through the whole show, very enjoyable and something I haven't done for far too long

When the band was on the band was ON. Achilles live here is probably the best example of it. Robert howlin away, jpj’s walloping bass with Bonzo’s constant cannon fire. And Jimmy pulls through like only he ever could- playing with his axe a song that had numerous guitar parts. Achilles, Whole Lotta Love, Sick Again, In the evening, Rock and Roll and Kashmir from Knebworth are testament to their abilities.

Two killer jams! I just want to say that when you're in a band with Bonham, Page, and Plant, you might get lost in the madness. I love those guys, but I think JPJ was their secret weapon. It takes 4 to Tango! Dig the channel! I know this means nothing, but I'm also a fan of your thumbnails, lol. Keep up the good work. ☮️🤘🤙

You guys are the best reactors....so many other reactors stop the song to talk and react and you guys instead play the tune and watch the whole thing, like we are hanging out and chilling listening to music together. That's the way it is supposed to be, relaxing and enjoying tunes together, like being with friends back in the day before all the distractions of smart phones, social media and crap. It's fun to hang out! Thanks for continuing to crank out great content!

Trampled was awesome on the 1980 European Tour as well, played even faster. And considering the number of guitar overdubs in the studio version of Achilles, its incredible that Jimmy could make Achilles as powerful live being just one man. Achilles was one of the glaring omissions from the O2 Arena reunion 2007...obviously you had to keep the show under 3 hours, but Achilles was a tough omission. I suspect they would have killed it in 2007.

Age happens? That’s funny. Jimmy was 35 here. No, what happened to Jimmy was heroin. And he fought that monkey for awhile. I honestly don’t know when he finally kicked it. I think he’s been completely clean of all drugs and alcohol for about 20 years now …but it could be longer. I know that he was clean of hard drugs when he got back together with Robert in the 90’s because Robert wouldn’t work with him otherwise. Yeah,,,”Jimmy still had some life in him”. The Firm, solo, collaboration with Robert, remastering all the albums, his great performance in 2007 Celebration Day. So yeah, that’s an understatement.

I think the band sounds surprisingly tight and powerful in this show. Jimmy was a mess for a lot of the 1977 shows. Cracks started to show in 1975. Too bad 1970-1973 Jimmy wasn’t around to play the full catalogue!
