Haha, love that hype sticker! I never really gave this a proper listen, but I guess there are some fine stuff in there. 60s occult rock, I mean what's not to like :) Thanks for highlighting it!

Fun one for sure. Still need a copy, have the American Revolution & Boston Tea Party on FlickDisc. Also, I think Richie showed this one like 43 times lol! Happy new year Dom!

Has he? Ha, must have missed Richie showing it. I am seeing that this one is very common in the LA area.

Thanks Dom. I used to see this record often, but always ignored it, I think because of the artwork and the label. Flick Disc seemed suspect to me back then. Now, I wish that I had bought a copy for a few dollars. I had not seen that Kim Fowley footage before. Thanks, Chris

Thanks Chris. yes that footage is fun. Nice to see him going through the stacks and letting us know its all for sale. I would've loved to dig through that stuff.

Must be the LA connection because the only time I've seen this record is the copy I'm holding here.

I remember seeing that footage of him stumbling upon it in his messy stacks years back. 😆 Love it. This has always eluded me, always see the other Flick-Discs though. I've kept one Fowley & parted with "Outrageous". His wild antics can kind of get in the way of some solid playing. But I think this would get its fair amount of spins over here. Always a good sign when Michael Lloyd is onboard.

None of the Fowley lps have appealed to me too much. It always felt like they were trying too hard. But whatever he did to these guys on this record certainly worked out.

Very interesting album, Dom. And Fowley was certainly an interesting cat. Been curious about his rather odd musical output ever since i saw his name on the Runaways albums i bought as a teenager. (I'm sure you're familiar with the song, The Trip). Just by chance, I had the opportunity to meet Cherie Currie in the early 2000s. She was incredibly nice and seemed open to talking. So I mentioned Fowley to her to see what her reactions would be; She didn't say much - saying that he was a difficult topic for her. With many conflicting feels about the man. Mostly, she just looked at me and smiled. But at least she seemed to have made her peace with him. There is a wonderful CD comp called Impossible but True - The Kim Fowley Story on Ace Records. It gathers together songs he wrote or produced and makes for a good listening experience. Btw - I don't want to glorify him too much - as you said, he was likely capable of some very ugly behavior.

Hey Shawn. Yeah I think we only know the tip of the iceberg and some of the terrible deeds he was responsible for. People in his position had a level of power that led them to do things they could get away with. And the people affected let it happen with the promise of stardom. Of course, this is just speculation but it seems likely. However, the music is what I'm judging upon so for me I can separate successful recordings from the people who made them. So yes, I enjoyed this one. Cool you met Currie and not surprised she didn't have much to say there.

I remember buying that some years ago at a record shop. I bought it because I liked the dragon on the front lol. I had no idea what it was about It was kind of weird but I did learn it was a hard to find record. I did keep the original vinyl. I had no idea Fowler was associated with it.

Its a pretty out-there record even for the time. It gets pretty deranged and not just in a contrived Kim Fowley kinda way. Holds water for me

Where do find this video? Fowley is a trip Remember seeing him a lot in dc in 80s. He was involved n that Baltimore band Vigil at the time. I’d see him at the 930 Some almost arcesia vocal wise

Kim Fowley is whack. I have that lp, haven't spun it I'd say in like 10 years. Damn, I better get it together. I'm going to make it a point to dig that out of my shelves this week and give it a ride. Great cover and great label design. Peace.

Severely overrated by collectors in the past few years. At best, a second-tier psychedelic LP. I’ve had it in my collection twice and twice tried, after listening with open mind and ears, to find some reason for holding on to it.
