somehow I missed the release of this video ! Awesome acid banger ! Love the mb33, it doesn't sound the same as other 303 clones (somehow it's warmer and different) but I just love the MB33, especially her square wave

thanks for the kind words, great you like it! As for the MB33: same for me, I really like the MB33, but indeed it sounds quite different when compared to the TT-303. I once had a Braintec Transistor Bass 3 and a Deep Bass 9 and they all had their own sound.

Is the Sub Phatty a new addition? I've been wanting one of those for a while. Great sounding synth. This also makes me want to break my TB-3 back out. I haven't used it in a while. Probably not quite as good as these acid synths but it gets there most of the way. This was awesome. Unlike my last one, this WAS what I needed to get moving this morning. :)

The build up was really well executed.

Thanks for your comment Matt, glad you like it! I got the Sub Phatty a few months ago. So far I haven't used it often in my youtube tracks yet, but will engage it more frequently in the future. The raw oscillators already sound fatter than any other synth I owned so far. Good for leads but for my kind of music, it's even better at bass sounds. Yeah, get your TB back out but you could also use the Bass Station 2 to make it sound like a 303 with the acid filter, but Im not sure: does it also emulate the accent?

Hey man. First off: nice vids. I don't always like the genre, but I think it's all high quality stuff. As I see you work with a korg electribe sampler. Do you like it? Because I really want to get into technological music production and I am looking for my first groovebox/sampler. I am considering either a volca sample or the ES2. I want to mainly produce hip hop beats. Can you recommend one of those two for a beginner or something else? By the way I know that these are all intruments that have to be learned and that I can't just buy one of these and make great songs right away. But I'm willing to invest time. I play the drums and the piano. Sorry to bother you. Looking forward to your reply!

thanks for your comment! I like the ES2 and use it very often as the heart and centre of my live setup because it unites three functions for my purposes: drum computer, sample player and sequencer for the other synths. The latter was the main reason why I sold my Volca Sample and replaced it with the ES2. For your purposes, if the main idea is to make (hiphop) beats both will do fine as long as you're a beginner. I felt the Volca Sample is very intuitive right from the start, whereas the ES2 needed a bit of time to get used to the workflow - the latter not surprising since the ES is much more compex. The more ambitious you are and the more complex sets you want to make, though, the sooner you will experience the Volca's limitations as problem and will want the ES.

Man thank you very much for your answer. I think I am just gonna buy a ES2 right away. The volca sample may be cheaper for now. But I am quite sure that after a year or so I'll wanna have a ES2. And so I'll end up spending more money than if I just bought it now. Sorry for my shitty english btw. I'm from Austria and still attending school.^^ Thank you very much for your advice again. It really helped me to make a decision.

kein Problem. Viel Spass mit dem ES2 und Grüsse nach Österreich!
