I really like the idea of people in feudal Japan encountering a Yautja and interpreting it as an oni (or perhaps the idea of oni originated from Yautja in the first place). The way these monstrous and ancient hunters influence the mythology of different human civilizations is one of my favorite aspects of AVP lore. Edit: Okay, Hiroto is an amazing character as well. His decision to travel _defenseless_ into the hunting grounds with a party of foolhardy samurai in order to safely observe the predator's tactics before he engages it himself is a stroke of cold, calculated genius.

A predator inspiring a new form of warriors like the shinobi is what makes this story good for me. The only downside is that the predator itself acts like a bad blood rather than what we see in first movie. The pred spams his cannons way too many and seemed to much more incompetent and succumb to emotions. Having said that the story is still awesome and the way the fight is so detailed you can picture a scene on your mind while listening.

I imagine 2 awesome movies, first one Samurai vs. Predator, the second Shinobi vs. Predator. The first movie is based on 6 samurai trying to kill the Oni/Predator, two of them survived but badly injured the Predator leaves because of an emergency. The second movie, the two surviving samurai, uses the Oni/Predator tactics, and they become shinobi. The second movie, the Oni/Predator, returns to finish the hunt 9 years later. The two now shinobis hear about a Oni/Predator killing people and go after it with the help of other shinobis.

Also does the story really connect (if it does) to the predators storyline about the katana that was found in the ship? when the yakuza gang member along with the other survivors, found the katana which he explain looked ancient and had a lot of history behind it, that could be the only easter egg on there that showed that hint, I hope I'm making sense if not then correct me.
