(i know this would never happen cuz HTTYD is targeted towards kids with no blood or super graphic violence or swearing) Cuz I think a Predator would be drawn to the conflict between the dragons and Vikings hunting both the Vikings and dragons. I was expecting something cheesy but I must say this really was an impressive feat and has stood up well for six years. Better than Shane Black's The Predator and had more heart and soul into it. Love the writing of the banter between the Templar Knight and the Catholic Priest showcasing what many of us have assumed the Roman Catholic Church prioritizes over everything else (and this is coming from a follower of the Roman Catholic Faith). Also extreme kudos for not ending the film with the Predator getting killed by a lucky blow from Thomas, who was clearly outmatched, and Sied wisely showing that he was not a threat to the Predator after sheathing his weapon. Showing the Predator as an honorable sportsman that adheres to a agreement is also noteworthy.
@crayladrawshnick62322 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I also love how they showcase the Predator as an honorable sportsman, because the Yautja race pride themselves on two things: their fighting/hunting prowess and their honor.
@dorkandproudofit2 жыл бұрын
@@crayladrawshnick6232 That's why, ironically, the Predator is the one movie monster that your average joe is most likely to survive an encounter with. It's not a mindless murderer. It has no interest in killing people who can't--or won't--fight back. Hell, if you're a weak and helpless nobody threatened by an armed maniac, a Yautja would (albeit unintentionally and entirely incidentally) save your life. Out of all the post-Michael Myers "indestructible and relentless" type of horror movie antagonists, they're ironically the most human.

Just seen this for the first time. Lets stop with the "fan film" thing and call it what it is. This is a high quality low budget film that tells a better story than Hollywood can. The characters are believable, settings great, with special effects where needed. Seriously why does big movie productions have to spend millions when they can do these people done for a budget? Make this an hour and twenty minutes long and you could pack movie theaters with this kind of work.

I don't think I've ever seen such a professional fan film before. There are so many elements which normal amateurs wouldn't be able to do, such as the numerous aerial scenes, consistent believable acting, storyline, editing, location, period wardrobe etc. If I were to nitpick, I'd say the Predator was slightly short, and I don't think a sword would penetrate his stomach so easily and the lights in the night fight were a bit too bright. But otherwise it was a totally pro effort, and I could see this becoming part of Predator canon, because IMHO it's just that good.

This is just further confirmation that future Predator films should be period pieces, set throughout history. It would be a significant departure from most in the genre, and it would be interesting to see how others interpret the Predator. Loved how the knights thought it was a demon or the product of witchcraft. Seriously, I heard about the plot of Shane Black's The Predator and it seems like yet another step backwards. It takes place in the suburbs and has little kids involved. I'll give it a fair chance, but dammit I want to see a Predator movie taking place in Ancient Egypt, or against pirates(Predator 2 anyone) WW1, WW2, Korea, Nam, heck those are just the American conflicts. So much opportunity beyond the stale formula or pitting the Predator against the Alien.

Agreed! This fan film needs to be an eye opener for lovers of movies that Hollywood isnt the end it all be it all. Fan Films/Indie Films are changing the game!

I like the movie. Except for the uber altered predator. I wonder if he was a member of a rogue clan. I thought the Predators were all about honor. Genetic alteration doesn't seem to fit that the whole predator mythos.
@admiralackbar47676 жыл бұрын
The end was really, really good. i loved the meta plot. And i loved how the predator is a real sportsman. "Oh you want a 1vs1 with swords, okay, bring it!"..... like the warrior/hunter tribe they are.

WOW! only a few mins in ... These people, everyone involved need to be acknowledged, what a fine piece of film. Someone tell me they got an award or something for this. Just stellar filming, angles, panning, direction, acting.. editing.. y'all brought something really special together. A big thank you, I'm apparently 6yrs behind but this is refreshing to watch.

Predator 2 showed a helmet and guns from the era of the Conquistador. And yet no one has thought to make a film from that era. However, this short film came close to that!

There is a predator comic called "Predator 1718" which is set in the Caribbean with pirates and it explains how one of the predators got the pistol we see at the end of "Predator 2". It was going to get turned into a movie, but people said that it sucks

The comics are good but needs a good director and cast to make it.But still in my humble opinion is better than the crapp we get on hollywood now days.

Comics are good but reading it there would be no way to turn it into a major motion picture maybe a short film like this but not a high budget Hollywood movie

Imagine a series starting with neanderthals dealing with a Hunter, Sumerians, then Greeks, Romans, working it's way up to the Cyberpunk future of Aliens, where Colonial Marines deal with one.

Each season is based on a specific period and the last episode is just killing the predator and setting up the next Time where another is sent but we know the predators would be like “Fuck man. They keep taking us out. Who the hell is hiring these Yaujtas?”

I noticed that all the predators have great honor when it comes to hunting. I mean yea they have the unfair advantage over humans because of their advanced weaponry but whenever someone squares them up they will fight with honor and give their opponent a chance instead of outright killing them. We have seen it in all the movies!

exactly, like when they first arrived and taught humans how to hunt and build the original pyramids. Back when they would sacrifice humans to make xenomorphs and how it got out of control so they had to use the self destruct.

They need to first make their characters have a brain! These guys were stupid in how they handled tracking something they don't understand. That dumb woman tracker made a stupid mistake by chasing after something like that no one in their right mind would do such a thing.

As a Muslim, this story was captured perfectly. The story writer truly knows his stuff. Comparing the Predator to Jinn! brilliant!!! and true to the time. If this was real, the Europeans would certainly think witch craft, and the Easterners would think; Jinn! As a predator fan, just WOW. i give this 5 stars, god knows if you had a bigger budget and more actors, this would make Hollywood directors shake in their boots. Thank You for sharing.
