9:04 Armor didn't protected them from acid. It was guyver's consciousness. Guyver unit was originally design as uniform of alien, so anyone who wear it will be consider as the master(alien), therefore, the ship will just open an entrance to let them in without attack them. Then, as master(guyver 1) gave the order, ship then allow other members of them enter the ship even they are not wearing uniform(guyver unit), they were consider as master's(guyver 1's) guest. * Acid is contained in/under of the skin of the ship, the liquid fill inside the ship is more like the breathable liquid in womb.. Just like Evangelion.

I loved the movie since I was a kid and it still gets me pumped, hearing Shawn say " I Am The Guyver..." I knew of a comic book but could never find it and im glad to find out there is a lore behind the movie. I always wondered if the guyver unit looked different with each human or just alien species like in the second movie.

On a separate note, if _I_ had any input into how the series continues, it'd be like this: 1. Sho and Team Hero would effectively be looking for ways to get stronger, but he'd be focused on finding Mizuki and Tetsuo after Apollon kidnapped them. *NOTE:* I believe Apollon is an agent from the Advents sent to "keep an eye" on Arkenfel, (while also taking back the Zoalord crystals) hence why he took them to Ark's island and left them in a house with him. He may even be able to control Mirabalis, wo is _still_ fully loyal to Ark...but his human memories make him "reluctant" to kill his old friends thanks to Apollon's interference in his programming. 2. KRONOS would be continuing with its plans for interstellar travel and creating ever more effective Zoalords, but the "Factions" among them would be an issue; some being loyal to Ark, some seeking power for themselves on earth, and another looking to head to space for their own agenda...maybe even working _with_ Apollon! 3. The ZL faction backing Guo would look to make use of Valkyria to create "dummy" units to enhance their powers so that they may be able to stand against Ark, and (Val)Kyria would be seeking revenge for the death of her brother (maybe lover) Inspector Lesker. 4. Zeus's Thunderbolts would be seeking ever more power, with Agito getting frustrated as he looks for a way to make his Gigantic go "Exceed", not realizing that it's a direct expression of Sho's pure-hearted intention to protect his friends/the planet, _and_ not his rage or "will", but his imagination, something Agito lacks. Basically, he'd become the Vegeta to Sho's Goku, constantly seeking to 1-up his rival. 5. Sho can _feel_ Mizuki is alive, but has no way to track her and Tetsuo, so ---- determined to *never* lose a loved one again, or let the planet fall to (what he believes) is KRONOS evil----- he begins training with Aptom (in both human and Guyver mode) to become a better fighter, as well as trying to find new ways to "evolve" the Guyver. Instead of hiding out and counter striking, this leads them to start subtly raiding KRONOS labs, where they learn about a new project: PSY-CORPS . *SIDEBAR:* Essentially, PSY-CORPS is a new bio-weapon plan of KRONOS to tap into the latent psychic powers of normal humans. Further study of the human genome revealed that the human brain being more developed than that of other species on the planet was deliberate; the Intelligence was but _one_ element , needed so that humans could take orders. However, that development _also_ laid base work for _Psychic powers_ similar to those of the Uranus and other higher evolved species. One of the reasons Guyver 0 was able to block the Advents commands was because the unit maximized his brain potential (the same basis that allows for telepathic communication between Guyvers), but even without a Guyver, these dormant parts of the brain could be "trained" or developed so that normal psychic powers (telepathy, body control, telekinesis) could grow. Being built for war, however, humans _also_ had the potential for other _unforeseen_ powers (clairvoyance, psychometry, element control, body enhancement). These would be abilities Zoalords use, which are "brought out" via optimization and the Zoa crystals; normal human brains just have them dormant. Only about 15% of the populace having a natural genetic talent for it, and another 5% being able to "train" for it...hence the legends of Psychics and heroes in the past. Furthermore---- much like Sho--- the factor of human "imagination"....an ability the Advents never conceptualized as linear, logical, scientific thinkers.... can allow for mankind to evolve or conceive new abilities....much like Sho used _his_ imagination to create Guyver Gigantic. 6. So yeah, KRONOS is now trying to find and bio-enhance psychic soldiers; where as the Zoanoids would be "shock troops", Zoalords "Generals" and Arkenfel the "Supreme Commander", Psychics would be "Captains", commanding Zoanoads much like Griselda did her soldiers and acting as "transmitters" to enhance the range and effect of Zoalaords reach. The side effects here would be evident, though: Psy-men would be "more resistant" to Zoalords commands, and need to be forced to comply in other ways. They could also "shield" themselves and others from the psychic sense, and even _pure vision_ of Zoalords or interfere with thought waves the way Murakami did with Guo, just to greater effect. Also, they _couldn't_ be processed for obedience, because turning them into a Zoanoid would "shut off" or totally negate both the part of the brain responsible for transmitting mental energy and genes for further psychic development. However... someone with a Guyver unit who has this gene _may_ be able to _enhance it! 7. This leads Sho to an American KRONOS lab, where their lead worker, Maurice Barker, has been forced to serve KRONOS ends. Maurice is both a natural psychic and top level scientist in weaponized Nuero science, who was working on developing the Psy-Men because KRONOS has been holding his 18 year old brother, Shaun, as ransom. Maurice agrees to aid Sho if he rescues his brother, which is done. Unfortunately, Sho doesn't possess the Psy-Gene, _but_ Maurice thinks he has a way of making Sho stronger and training him to better use his Guyver enhanced "intuition", doing this by implanting cells from a _third_ advent shit....the remains fo the ship Guyver 0 destroyed eons earlier! 8. This training takes several days, and Sho and Aptom have to "masquerade" battles with ZTB _and_ KRONOS to keep them off track that he's teleporting between Japan and the US to raid teir bases and get further tech and secrets. Shaun is rescued, and his brother implants Advent ship cells into him; not only does this boost Shaun's mental powers and some of his physical abilities, but it makes him _totally immune_ to Zoalord control and Optimization! Maurice also grants Aptom new abilities, such as combining with metals, to make him and even better battle creature. 9. Guo's KRONOS faction eventually stumble upon Team's Hero's doings, and (seeking means to use Maurice's research to enhance their own abilities even further and be free of Ark's control) raze the lab; Maurice is mortally wounded, but Team Hero _brutally_ hurts Guo and learns of the divided faction within KRONOS, as well as freeing the Psy-Men and destroying the research; it's a blow to two of their enemies. Enraged by his brother's murder, Shaun joins Team Hero and vows to take KRONOS down with them, using the last piece of knowledge his brother gave him via a psychic dream: Ark's island wasn't the _only_ base the Advents had, and thus it is suspected that _somewhere_ on Earth...there's *another Guyver Unit!* 10. _This_ would kick off a 4 way battle (Team Hero, KRONOS, ZTB, Apollon) to stop the other entities from finding the Unit, destroying humanity, spreading into space and possibly join an eons old interstellar war, while also creating a _whole new dimension_ of battle as Psy-Men decide who to join, and if to oppose KrRONOS's rule! Hell, could you even _imagine_ a Sho-enhance Guyver version 4, Arkenfel, Apollon and a Psychic Guyver fighting it out?!?!? A dream, I know, but seriously... I'd want to see this play out!

Great video love the Guyver series, I stumbled upon the two live action movies when I was a kid and instantly was hooked, it wasn't until years later I found out it was based on a manga/anime and then binged the crap out of everything Guyver, it is a shame that the manga is incomplete this is definitely one of my favorite series and is very underrated, I've only known maybe 3 or 4 people who have even heard of it. Love this series, just one correction. The Guyver units were basically the space suits / encounter suits used by the Advent. It was not created on Earth it was part of their basic equipment for travel. They decided to see what would happen if they let a human bond to it. Because humans were designed for combat the unit optimized itself for that. The Advent were designing combat bio-forms because they were not capable to fight their own battles and did not want to change themselves.

Well, it's not that it hasn't gotten completed, it's just that the original creator has been on hiatus for a long long time. Yoshiki Takaya's original partner (responsible for main story/plot writer and story boarder) who worked on the series alongside him passed away in 2016. There hasn't been any official announcement that they had completely given up on the series, especially since we continue to see Guyver merchandise still being put out there. Takaya is a dentist by trade and worked on the Guyver as a hobby. If Takaya is still around, there might still be hope for the series to finish. Otherwise, I'd say it's up to the next generation who would take interest in the Guyver to finish the story and/or up to the fans.

I've loved the Guyver series for years, even though my first intro to it was that... um... _interesting_ first film. The various anime series (*Especially* 2005) an the _manga_ though... that's just FREAKING AWESOME. It's a shame the Mangaka's health hasn't allowed him to finish this series, even after 30 years; it's right up there with _Ah! My Goddess!_ in terms of quality and import, in my opinion.

I have always dug the Guyver ever since my Uncle showed me the old OVA series when I was a kid. Everything about its design is just great. Also learning later on that the lead in Dark Hero was Solid Snake's actor David Hayter was pretty cool as well. You can really hear it when he yells in the movie. I really wish they could bring it back.... but I have this gut feeling that if they try it will be a Berserk 2016 situation with really terrible cg animation.

The guyver is literally a deconstruction of tokusatsu or japanese based superheroes like ultraman, kamen rider and super sentai and i love it!

This series really needs a complete overhaul. The Guyver has so much room for improvement that it could literally be the most overpowered super suit and or being in all of anime. This is an armor so great that it's own creators feared it so much that they literally bitched out and ran, wow.

Hi acidglow, I just wanted to tell you something funny about Alien Vs Predator that I recently found out. The costume and set makers of the AvP movie were also hired by a Dutch Insurance Company to make a commercial with Alien creatures that look very similair to the Predators. If you want to see it yourself I can give you a link to the video since its dark, but the ending is simply hilarious.
