apparently, aciel's normal encounter was bugged in vanilla, according to zombero. "He's supposed to not use Tetrakarn if Rangda or Mada are in the fight with him, but they used the wrong conditional and instead the script is set to not have a chance to use Tetrakarn every 98 and 104 turns (the IDs of those two demons)."

Funny story: I actually _lost_ to this guy once because a) I got Retaliated and that used my Endure, b) I didn't know to look out for Hell Fang instead of Mana Drain and was the unlucky target of the post-Sol N--er, Black Sun attack. My demons were all fine as they had Void Phys or better (and I may or may not have forgotten to equip a Phys-resist Magatama that first time, too). Edit: I also Taunted him twice to raise the reflected damage he eats, both times. That's another reason his Retaliate hit so hard (and I don't remember if I used Rakukaja that first time...)

If you could get here at lvl 1 it would be entirely possible, and much quicker than DDS2 Abaddon. Although unlike that one it isn't actually possible to fight Aciel at level 1 without cheats. Jikoku and Zouchou have similar problems, at least in vanilla. They only use ice/elec spells respectively unless a target is shocked or frozen so you could theoretically auto them at level 1 with the right magatama.

I always gone on all my fights whilst being over leveled, so this guy was 4 shotted by IRON CLAW GAMING (3.5k damage crit), yet, the only one i was suffering with was Scady. It may be the laziest strategy ever, but Tetrakarn completely destroys Aciel because his only attacks are physical (even in the original). After Taunting him twice, he can deal over 3000 damage to himself with Tempest (or in the case of Hardtype, potentially over 6000 damage to himself with Hades Blast). Even if you don't use Tetrakarn, he still is pretty easy because his buff removal AI is garbage (he hardly ever removes them). Sol Niger is the only threat in this fight in vanilla, but you can see it coming because he will Dragon Eye + Mana Drain up to 5 times the round before he does it. If you keep Tetrakarn up at all times, he can literally never kill you (since Sol Niger in of itself can never kill).

Estoma's no good for low level, especially in hardtype where it's been nerfed. I just retreat (admittedly with increasing levels of savestate abuse as the run progresses) Encounters aren't too scary with null all Arahabaki and some Mana Refill healbots, plus soon Demi will null all elements too. It's just tedious as hell without Trafuri
