Good video. Nice snap shot of lessons that describes how children are encouraged to use the routes to become independent learners. As regards the part where they rank what things are important to get a high grade in exams it answered my long term question - how is it possible that a native language speaker could fail a UK gcse in their language.

That first German teacher was very good. Very good speaking practice and I think AFL works with this as it refers to a whole skill of the speaking exam at GCSE. Really not sure about that second French teacher though. Think much of that lesson was wasted time. Much better going over the vocab and using it in context than spending time filling out target forms.

This is a language class, why do you speak English, the whole lesson? we never teach a language by another language. what is the use of learning that language then???
