The Government of Tamil Nadu has initiated a program called “TN Talk” (Tamil Nadu Talk), a program for sharing knowledge through talks and presentations by important personalities. The goal of this program is to inspire, inform and educate the public of Tamil Nadu through the dissemination of cuddling-edge ideas and concepts. The Directorate of Public Libraries is a hosting organization of the event. TN Talk will feature a series of talks by doyens from important domains in science, technology, social science, humanities, and governance. This Program will be organized by Anna Centenary Library (ACL), one of the largest libraries in Asia.
In this talk, S.M. Vijayanand I.A.S (Retd.) Talks about the history and origin of decentralisation, empowering the local governments, power of village panchayats and how they can function as an independent government body.
