I'm sooo stressed about "Sunrise on the Reaping". I love the original trilogy so much and of course I'm excited for everything Suzanne Collins comes out with but I'm nervous as well.

I know Hannah loved the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I hated it unfortunately, and if this next book is anything close to it then I will be very sad. The Hunger Games is one of my favorite series of all time. I believe in letting good things be, instead of milking them years later

Katabasis by R. F. Kuang is coming out in 2025!!

Your nerves are definitely understandable for the new Hunger Games book, I’m always so weary when a new book is announced in a “finished” trilogy. I actually still haven’t read Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because of this. I have faith in Suzanne Collins though, I hope that it’s good 😭 My most anticipated release is probably Katabasis by RF Kuang, it sounds so good! Also excited for the new Emily Henry and Taylor Jenkins Reid 📚
@LizAsInElizabeth6 сағат бұрын
I think u should give ballad a try! I think the story is actually really well done and Suzanne continues to show why these stories are important

8:11 yessss can’t wait for you HG videos!! I’m so excited for SOTR- it’s one of my most anticipated releases of next year! Also Heir 2 by Saba Tahir is supposedly coming out next year, this duology is in the same world as An ember in the ashes 🫶🏻

You should do an updated video on the Ember in the Ashes series!!

This next year is honestly huge for fantasy. So many big name authors are having releases that it’s almost hard to keep track of. Basically no matter what group or niche of fantasy someone likes, something is coming out: VE Schwab, Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson, Guy Gavriel Kay, R.F. Kuang, James Islington, Martha Wells, Amal El-Mohtar, Heather Fawcett, Rebecca Yarros, so on and so on. People could reply with many names I didn’t mention and triple this list

also Samantha Shannon, Saraa El Arifi, and Hanah Kaner!

Hey! I am an Ava Reid fan, and your love for her is one of the reasons I tried out her books in the first place! Just wanted to pop in and say that in 2025 she also has a second release coming out on the 5th of August, which is the second novel after "A study in Drowning". Thought it might interest you.

I apologize if you’ve addressed this in a video before (I haven’t made my way through ALL of your content yet lol) but since you’re such a big fan of Ava Reid, I wanted to get your opinion on something! How do you feel about the fact that she took Breton (a real, dying language from the Brittany region of France) and used it as Argantian in A Study in Drowning, but has never (to my knowledge) given acknowledgment to this fact? It’s not in her Acknowledgments of the book, and I haven’t seen her mention it in any interviews; a lot of people I’ve met didn’t even know that she used a real language (literally used a well-known phrase almost word-for-word) and had instead thought that she’d made it up. I can’t help but feel like it’s a shame that she hasn’t used her fame/popularity to bring more attention to a language that could really benefit from it! I absolutely loved A Study in Drowning; the last paragraph had me smiling and thinking about the book for *days* afterward. But when I started trying to research her inspiration for Argantian, (because I’m obsessed with languages, especially made up ones lol) I learned that she just straight up used Breton, hasn’t really specifically *stated* that even when given opportunities, and it soured the book a little for me (for like, a week; I’ve since gone back to loving it and have decided simply to bring up the language thing whenever I get the chance to). You’re my favorite BookTuber, and I have found that I really, really enjoy the way you keep your Critical Thinking Hat on all the time, so as I said, I’m very curious to know your thoughts on this matter, specifically. ☺️

In 2025 I'm looking forward to A Theory of Dreaming the sequel to A Study In Drowning, especially since everyone thought the book would be a standalone. Hey Hannah, I was wondering if it’s ethical to be buying from and publicly shouting out an author who writes political books and then goes on to work with a zionist on those exact movies. It seems a little hypocritical of the author and it’s a genuine question whether you think it is ethical or not to consume her work any longer?
