I have rosacea and I was super worried because some veins became very visible. I changed my diet completely because of a videa I watched about how to cure rosacea (Low carb, low sugar and more veggies and water.) and I replaced all my products for hypoallergenic, non parabens, fragrance free for sensitive skin and natural oils like jojoba oil and castor oil. My skin is wonderful. I can't be happier. You barely see any rosacea even without make up.

Mir wurde immer nur die Pille angedreht, keine Besserung. Mittlerweile bin ich fast 20 und hab die Hoffnung mein "wahres, reines" Gesicht zu sehen, komplett verloren.

I just want to say THANK YOU. I am 29, and I’ve struggled with acne since I was 12. I have been to 6 different dermatologists, I was able to clear up my skin a few years back, with random pimples here and there...but the past 2 years my skin has become inflamed just like hers. I watched this video last week, when I was breaking out severely. I went and purchased la roche posay facewash, toleraine lotion, mineral sunscreen and aveeno calming night moisturizer, and my skin is completely clear today. I would’ve never considered that I had rosacea, but my breakouts looked exactly like hers. My skin has completely calmed down. I’ve spent 1000’s of dollars on skincare in the past years and I cannot believe that something so simple would clear my skin up. Even by cutting out dairy and sugar would only clear my skin up for short amounts of time. Thank you soooooo much for this video!!!!!!

The alcohol is huge on Asian sunblocks because of their weather, which tends to be VERY humid. It's so difficult to manage with regular sunscreen when you're sweating rivers and the sweat IS NOT EVAPORATING because of the humidity, the fact that they're very watery and dry very fast make those sunblocks much better in this situation. I have acne rosacea as well and live in a very humid and hot country, and I swear by those things, even if the alcohol being a bit drying. The trick for me is layering a good base - if I have a nice foundation and my skin barrier is doing good, I won't have any problems with it and my dermatologist loves that I've found sun protection that I like enough to reapply often throughout the day, because like sun-caused inflammation > alchol-based irritation on very light skin tones.

It took 8 months for my derm and I to find a routine that worked for my skin. It took prescription medication as well as trial and error with products. My skin loves vitamin c but retinol causes an allergic reaction. Even after slowly introducing a retinol product my eczema would flare up on my face, and I would get a bunch of little white heads and bunches of eczema patches.

I’ve had acne rosacea for many years. At 46 I have finally learned to manage it. Cereve products are my besties. Also... differin gel that you can get over the counter is awesome... although I cannot use it everyday. I use it as often as my skin allows. Meaning when I start to feel a little to dry I will skip it. On average I use it 5 nights a week. Nothing with fragrance.... ever. Routine is simple.... cereve hydrating cleanser, cereve pm moisturizer (morning and night), elta MD sunscreen and defferin before bed. I finally feel normal. Now just to correct the skin discoloration. Would love to work on anti-aging but too scared changing anything will irritate my skin again.

I really won the lottery on skin issues that are incompatible when it comes to treatments: Rosacea+eczema, acne and signs of aging. My advice: treat different areas of your face differently according to their needs. There's no rule stating you have to apply everything to your entire face. I use a lot more retinol on my forehead where I have fine lines, a lot more benzoyl peroxide on my nose where I have clogged pores and a lot more of sensitivity/eczema friendly stuff on my upper cheeks where I have rosacea and around my mouth where I have eczema.

My skin has gone crazy since I had my son. Before, I used to have oily skin with teenage acne and when I started college the acne mostly went away but I was still oily. While I was pregnant, perfectly balanced. After he was born, suddenly I have very sensitive skin with red blotchiness on my cheeks and my skin is dry everywhere with a little oil on my nose at the end of the day. Foundation and moisturizers sometimes burn my face now. I get these teeny tiny white bumps on my cheeks that I can’t see until I look in a magnifying mirror. My skin is mostly clear everywhere else but breakouts on my chin during that time of the month. My skin feels like it becomes textured within minutes after exfoliating. I think I might have postpartum rosacea but my son just turned 4 and it shows no signs of improving

My Skin became super sensitive after I tried a celebrity branded skincare regimen (I don't think it's available anymore. I was about 28 or 29). I am 40 now and have normal/sensitive/rosacea (mild) skin. My Dr. put me on Benzoyl Peroxide (And salicylic acid caused bumps) and I ended up more inflamed with bumpy skin. I've learned I can't use in my skincare: dimethicone, essential ois (especially lavender and rose - even rose water), fragrance and normal irritants that you usually talk about on this channel. Metronidazole (it has to be the cream as the thicker stuff doesn't seem to sink in or work) is something I was prescribed after we figured out Benzoyl didn't mesh with my skin. I still use it to this day but rarely. Only if I try something that irritates my skin. About two days of use and the redness is back down (I do have a permanent flush and a couple broken capillaries). I really love the DE products and can even use the AHA/BHA treatment from them with no issues. My skin has been super clear and brighter with the vit C. I'm looking for cheaper alternatives and am also leaning towards trying CeraVe. I don't like Cetaphil products. I can use the Ordinary retinoid but I tried two days in a row and the red bumps started to come out, so I try for every other day or less. Drunk Elephant is the only brand that I like all the ingredients in and has no dimethicone or fragrance or harmful "natural" ingredients. Totally looking for more affordable options. I do like Ole Henriksen products that I've tried. I am cruelty free so I haven't wanted to try CeraVe for that reason. But it's hard to find inexpensive products that work. :( I also hate buying a whole routine from a bunch of different brands. (It's a personal issue...)

I use the same prescription as you, I use VaniCream to wash my face and I use Avene which is for sensitive skin. I spoke with my dermatologist about the redness and capillaries and he suggested that I can get ipl Photofacial laser for rosacea my dermatologist also gave me recommendations on who to go to. I wouldn’t go to just anyone for the ipl Photofacial laser unless my dermatologist recommended them. I’m excited because the ipl Photofacial laser will reduce the laser and capillaries. I’d like to point out not everyone who has rosacea is fair skinned.

here’s a big tip that i found works well for my very sensitive skin & could help anna! keep basically the same routine morning and night every day. it seems like she changes up her serums and moisturizers a lot day and night, but keeping everything the same- aside from possible strong treatments that should only be used once a day, not needing to double cleanse in the morning, maybe wanting an occlusive at night, and making sure to put sunscreen on in the morning- consistently using the same cleanser, hydrators, moisturizers and serums can really help calm down irritation because your skin isn’t going to be confused by you constantly switching up ingredients.

Just a PSA y’all, If you’re suffering with hormonal acne and your derm doesn’t send you to get blood work done to see what’s going on internally, schedule it yourself. Seriously. I suffered for so long with hormonal acne and was left with scarring that still isn’t gone 3 years later because I waited too long to find out that my hormones were blown off the charts. And everything my derm prescribed didn’t do a god damn thing. Because it was all *internal* and all started from there.

Skin is merely a reflection of your insides. I struggled with moderate to severe acne rosacea for about a decade, which drove me to the point of not wanting to live anymore. Went to countless dermatologists who told me there's no cure, did every type of laser there is, tried every cream and topical treatment, prescription and OTC, yet none of these did more than keep it in check. Until I changed my diet and lifestyle. Went keto, cut out dairy, gluten, grains, sugars, starches and alcohol, started taking good quality probiotics, digestive enzymes and cod liver oil. Day by day I dumbfoundedly watched the redness, inflammation, broken capillaries and bumps go away, leaving me with beautiful, healthy skin I've never had before. I'm now at the point where I could literally slap on thick, heavily scented Nivea and my skin won't even mind it, whereas before even plain simple water would irritate me. Dermatologists (with extremely rare exceptions) aren't trained to see the link between skin and what goes on inside, so if you think the solution for this affliction's in some cream or pill, you're kidding yourself. I don't even care if you believe me. I'm not trying to sell anything and I've got nothing to win out of this. But *you* do!

Thanks for posting this because it has been my experience, too. Niacinamide really can be irritating for us with sensitive skin. The only way I can use mine is if I sandwich it between a lighter moisturizing milk and a heavier moisturizing cream. Otherwise it stings my face! People call it very gentle and for normal skin/oily skin people I think it is, but sensitive skin people really need to be careful with it as well.

@@megamuffinchipalicious898 so true, in low doses (aka when it's at the bottom of the ingredient list) I don't notice any issues but when something has a lot of it my skin is so inflamed and my neck even gets a red burning/itchy rash (ya know, from spreadin the product on my neck like a good skincare junky). It's just always kinda funny when these ingredients become deemed miraculous and are widespread, claiming to be for every skin type. It really is a process of trial/error no matter what 😂

I think it's really the formulation that makes all the difference and the other products that ur using in ur regime. For instance my skin hates CeraVe pm moisturizer and the ordinary niacinamide , but loves la rosch posay effaclar h moisturizer which incidentally has niacinamide in it. And if ur skin burns after using a product, ur skin barrier is compromised, which means u have to scale down to the bare minimum, ie non foaming cleanser( CeraVe, Cetaphil) and a barrier protecting moisturizer ( I use effaclar h) and only spot treat. So that ur skin can rebuild it's integrity.

Hi Susan and everyone in the comments! I have a really long question to ask lol, but here is some background about the products i use. 1. Skinfix foaming oil cleanser 2. Laneige cream skin toner 3. Volition snow mushroom serum 4. YTTP adaptogen moisturizer (5. MDsolarsciences spf 50 in morning). I have rosacea and none of these products irritate me. However, I still feel dry even after moisturizing and using Liah Y 3-2-2 method. (3 layers of toner, 2 layers of serum, 2 layers of moisturizer). so my question is: How do i make my skin feel more soft/ hydrated/ not dry? Like my yttp cream is very oily and has no silicones ( i think that means its considered an emollient) so should i add a more occlusive moisturizer that has silicone and is oil free in which i’ll apply before my oil moisturizer? Should i be using both occlusives and emollients?

I was recently diagnosed with this type of Rosacea (Type 2, papulopustular rosacea.) I honestly never even considered it despite being 25 with frequent breakouts since i have oily skin and I don’t have the best eating habits tbh. I have the typical Latina medium-dark skin and I always considered rosacea to be a white skin-only issue but it’s not. This is a chronic disease and I recommend everyone to read on the symptoms and go to a dermatologist if anything rings a bell because this is one tricky bitch to deal with. I’m even on prescribed medication and everything.

Rosácea is the worst thing ever. When i have exams i can barely study because my rosácea gets worse with stress. Fortunately i am treating right now and doing IPL in my face. This is my skincare routine (2x day): - Bioderma Sensibio Gel Mousant. - La Roche Posay Foaming gel (only in my nose). - Theraskin Amilia (is a liquic talc, i know it’s weird but is helping a lot). - A prescription cream that has: Nicotinamide, Salicylic Acid, Ex Caviar, Azelaic acid, Oxymetazoline (the last one is a vasoconstrictor usually used in nasal sprays). - Skinceuticals UV oil defense FPS 80. I stopped wearing any makeup a few months ago after i realized i was hurting my skin trying to cover everything.

If vitamin c gets oxidised sitting on the shelf and losses it's potency after certain months also it acts a pro oxidant on coming in contact with light and air that's the reason why it's kept so packed in jars what is the reason why it cannot be harmful when we apply it on our face and go out and expose our skin to sun and light everything we were saving it from in jars? Also doesn't using vitamin c will actually cause our skin to stop producing collagen naturally because our skin will stop feeling the stimulation to produce that because of it's artificial presence on our skin already? I'm a science student and have studied biochemistry extensively and this is just out of sheer curiousity.

I'm so late to watching this video! I fully believe i'm on the same boat Anna is on. My mum has rosacea and both my parents had acne as teens, my sister and I have struggled with acne for years too and I agree that all that stripping is making it worse because I've done that ahaha. I even went to a dermatologist a couple times and they put me on isotretinoin, twice. I could only be on it for 3 months at a time because of the negative effects. The second time I was on it my skin barrier died. all over. Surely some dermatologists can actually properly look at a patients skin and really work things out with them rather than just throw medical retinol at them for acne. Thanks for sharing about acne rosacea! very informative!

Also my skin cannot handle niacinamide! There's anecdotal evidence that some people experience flushing and stuff with niacinamide, and I'm one of them... salicylic acid works great for me with a urea cream, or in an oil. Different strokes, right? Also, "if you don't feel heard" is a LEGIT reason people avoid doctors of all kinds... specially dermatologists and therapists and psychiatrists.

Is there a chance to reach out to Anna? I am from Germany, too. I can totally relate to her issues. I found out, that my skin is kind if allergic to propylene and pentylene glycol and its derivates. My skin reacts similar when i use these. So skip the clinique balm. I use the balm from holifrog or the cleansing oil from bakel in combination with a microfiber towel. The products from jkosmmune worked magic. A good, but expensive, moisturizer is the cream from Dr. Barbara Sturm, for some oil. Or the cerave face Lotion. A superb halyronic acid is from bakel, for the Winter times. As a spf i use the bare Minerals complexion Rescue defense in the Winter times, in summer the Ulrtrasun face mineral spf 30. Once or twice a week, I use the holifrog acid wash. Since this routine, my skin has cleared up so well. Skip any fragrance, essentiell oils and Bad alcohols 😊 good luck

I have medium olive skin that's super prone to inflammation for heat (and I live in Mumbai, so... hehe) or stress or hormones.. yeah. And then thee's hyperpigmentation from that. What works for me really well is azelaic acid and zinc oxide in homemade face packs with honey. Diaper rash cream has a lot of zinc oxide, but I'm fungal acne prone, too, so that doesn't work for me. Redness and inflammation is hard to deal with but not impossible! Cold temperatures help! Like, a cold sheet mask, or cotton pads soaked in cold black tea... eating well helps as well.
