You ever find out the meaning to the lyrics? ah if not it's about a Welshman's life progressively getting worse, the song's name is "The little Saucepan" which they say boils on the floor due to them being unable to have a second fire to boil it on

It's crazy, but I love this song. Years ago I recorded an audio book of "Howl's moving castle" for my girlfriend and was courious about calcifer's song. So I searched, found "Sospan Fach", learned the tune and recorded it as theme for the audio book on my nyckelhapa. And still I'm playing "Sospan Fach" on my medieaval german bagpipe with my band. Just loving the song! ❤ Greetings from germany! Wales is great!

I was not allowed to learn Welsh when I grew up in the Rhondda Valley in the 1950s. Went to an English language school (as all state schools were then) and missed out on a great deal. Still trying to teach myself yr hên iaith, so it's great to see these youngsters enjoying their own language. They will undoubtedly be bilingual, which means they will have the best start in life: a third language is no problem and a fourth is even easier. Da iawn, iawn.

There was a member of OBA who was a black young man, and, if you look through all the videos on KZbin, you will find him. True, there are few people in Wales who are black, but there a few, and all the OBA choirs welcome every young man of proper age living in any of the villages where OBA practices. Neither background in the Welsh language, nor knowledge of music and singing is required.

Every now and then, there are... but it is a fact that the population of the south Wales valleys is predominently white with a generous sprinkling of distant Italian amongst grandparents and great-grandparents. We have Asian families amongst us, but there isn't a lot of employment to be had here, so anyone who would move to an area for work tends to go to the larger towns and cities.

we're actually having that problem in wales now, thankfully caning has gone the way of the dodo, but kids associate welsh with school, so they seldom speak it out of school. These kids haven't grown up with welsh as a symbol of nationhood and defiance against the English, they consider English a symbol of identity and defiance against the new establishment, their own administration.
