What these Disney actors don’t seem to get is that the bulk of negative criticism is coming from the fans who, like myself, are willing to watch anything Star Wars. Acolyte was trash, period! These black actresses need to blame themselves for signing on to trash projects before reading the script. Especially knowing that Disney at this point has gained a reputation for doing black and/or female characters the dirtiest. At some point these actors need to wake up and realize that their acting career is on them, not the studios.

I absolutely loved the first season The Umbrella Academy. Talk about a diverse cast. (except Elen Page, she is as bland unflavored yogurt) But the second season was so disappointing. As if we needed another lesson that the civil rights movement was a thing, but whatever. But the lecturing was insufferable. And when the last episode ended I said, great, now I'm not gonna get to know what happens next. Cause I ain't watching this tripe for a 3rd season.

I'm actually glad studios are finally calling out toxic fans and stepping up to protect actors from them. I still haven't forgotten how Alyson Hannigan got some homophobic backlash after her character was made a lesbian in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and it took Joss Whedon stepping in to push back on the backlash. Beyond that I emphasize with Jodi Turner-Smith because some fandoms have gotten way out of hand that their very lives are at risk and I point to the death threats some actors are getting on social media. BTW toxic fans is exactly why Sarah Michelle Gellar stopped doing Buffy fan cons,events and appearances.
