To think Virtus Pro was the first CIS team to win a major event like ACON5 before NaVi domination in 2010-11. Before VP, it seems to be Western EU dominated, mostly Sweden and Norway.

Massive open areas, still some tactics involved but it was mainly aim battles!! Since CSS and now CS GO, there are so many props amongst other crap all over the map which sucks lol.. Miss these good old days...

They took a game that was great and a game noone was complaining about and replaced it with trash... CS 1.6 was a simple yet super strategic game built perfectly for public play as well as match play... why they scrapped it and replaced it with CS GO ill never understand. The age old saying of "if something ain't broke dont fix it" is too true in this case.

@@SiNz86 Endemic sponsorship of a game like 1.6 in todays esports scene would of never happened - especially when competing with games like Valorant that look prettier with better graphics, easier to learn/play and appeal to the younger generation If Global Offensive was never released/made, they would of binned CS altogether pretty quickly - it's why Counter-Strike is stil the most dominant esport today because of CSGO and why it remains the premiere FPS game with such a revered 20 year history Did you really think 1.6 could of lasted another 8 years after it died in 2012? Kids don't want to play a game that looks like pixels on a screen and don't want to get binked in the head as soon as they turn a corner of a wall - Csgo did a good job of graphics, gameplay also while keeping the skill ceiling high, same as Valorant We couldnt be playing 1.6 forever it was always bound to happen, we need the younger generation of today to play our games - otherwise they die it's as simple as that You know Billy that just got his first computer at age 16? Yeah well Billy is gonna be looking for games like Fornite, Valorant, CSGO - Oh whats that? Billys shit but he likes the game? Good now we can farm him, but you know whats good about farming Billy? He sticks around, he learns the game, he gets better and the game grows with more players and todays kids would not pick a game like 1.6 on there $2000 PC's, they want games with the best graphics and all there friends are playing 1.6 you either are a good player or you're fucken shit theres no inbetween, hardest game to master and learn, yeah csgo might not be as skillful as 1.6, but still takes alot of skill to compete with the best players At the end of the day thats how it works, you guys complaining about csgo, mate if it wasnt for csgo the entire game would of been dead and we'd playing pugs on 1.6 for the rest of our lives lol

@@rafawc I never said or thought that 1.6 would of lasted or anything. I understand and I've bought every CS since, as I currently in CSGO at the moment hahahah.. Obviously kids do not want to play an outdated game, I am just reminiscing about the good old days. I was chatting with a mate earlier a out Final Fantasy 7 remake as that is one good looking game imo.. I do love and miss the old FF7 but who will play that outdated game besides us oldies lol... I know what you mean and where you are coming from. I just miss the old days :)
