Never thought I see Hilti as the cheapest tool in a test! Very impressive efficiency, I'm guessing mostly due to the smaller blade. Would be interesting to see how the others would fare with a smaller blade, shame they didn't let you.

Another plus for husqvarna is that it pushes air through the battery while using. This prevents overheating and extends the battery cycle life. Husqvarna is the only OPE manufacturer I’ve seen doing this.

Makita pushes air through batteries whilst charging, but I'm yet to see them do it on a tool (could be wrong, though)

We run both the Hilti and the Gen 1 Milwaukee as a mason contractor. Both outperform ac powered conc saws we have been stuck using for the past decade. The Hilti is a scalpel as it's lighter and more nimble but the Milwaukee is an absolute beast and will cut anything you put in front of it but that Gen 1 is a heavy saw. Really heavy. We are getting a Gen2 with force batteries hopefully soon.

I am very impressed by Hilti performance. I am heavily invested in Makita 40v line, but if I ever need a concrete cutter I will go and take greenworks 82v commercial saw. It just sits in our local retailer office for around 350$ and I got plenty of batteries, and full combo with 2 8ah, charger and saw will go below 1000.(batteries are charging around 2,5 hours minimum if hot)

Having used the Hilti with the water pump as well it worked amazing. Also amazingly smooth power and nice compact balance. I own the 700x gas saw and it was very comparable. We also cut out several openings toothing 2 brick windows and one door and never changed the batteries on anything. It kicked butt. We could have easily kept up with the charging if needed and not having to pull start and have the constant engine noise was great.

I run the husqvarna’s to cut cml/c steel pipe. Anywhere from 10ga to 1/2” wall. The 770 will do the job but underpowered. The 970 is a good in between from the bigger saws. I have one from 2014 with minimal maintenance and runs good. Just make sure you blend the gas correctly and they will run forever.

Small fun fact. A gallon of gasoline has 33.6kWh of energy, so the gas tank here has 7.98kWh, or 7980wh worth of electricity before the conversion efficiency to mechanical energy. That puts the gas saw at 266wh per cut. Talk about efficiency. But if you then look at the size and weight of a gallon of gas compared to the amount of batteries needed for 9933ah worth of 3.6v cells, combined with the fact gas is a fluid, it makes sense why gas is still preferred

Cheers buddy use certainty are best out there. Great review will stick the best saw market TS700. 25.6lbs and monster 5000 engine 6800 horse power. Them saws 6-9lbs is crazy with no where near the power makes no sense unless need constantly cut inside buildings the a big plus with no gas fumes.

I thought Milwaukee would crush it. Imo the MX-fuel line is superior to anything else, because it is a big step up in battery size and voltage. That means they have the foundations to continue to produce bigger batteries with more capacity. Other brands will struggle with that because of the small battery-mounts and limited power-delivery in the terminals.

I got my 16 inch 82cc Makita quick saw for $100. Put a new piston in it myself for $25 and it rips. Gas is king.

What do you gain by switching from gas to battery? The gas saw was almost as fast as the Husky saw, and the most efficient of all of them, not to mention filling the tank takes seconds vs close to an hour to recharge

They're not morons, blades make the biggest difference to these products in terms of run time. They want to show the best results and therefore believe their blades give them that. We've seen a difference of up to 94% in run time when using different blades on cordless concrete saws testing

Agreed the premix is trash. The cans rust out. I just label a 2.5 gallon no spill gas jug and then buy the 2 stroke oil in the little pre-portioned bottle meant for 2.5 gallons. “Empty the bottle in the gas can and fill it with the middle of the three choices at the pump”. Pretty hard to mess that up.

That's a 9-inch. This is a 14-inch test, but they made an exception for the Hilti 12-inch as it achieves similar depth of cut.
