This method is nice if you have the option to send the half wall studs through the floor. Otherwise I do recommend these 0.220 in. x 5 in. T40 6-Lobe, Washer Head, Strong-Drive SDWS Timber Screw into the half wall sill at the floor joists about 1" in from the edge of the sill. Then a piece of 1/2" ply on either side of the wall and you will be amazed how strong that half wall feels. Even sheetrock or tile backer will do the trick, nailing off the ply at the sill and up the studs and that wall will be rock solid. The thread length is 3" and so with a 1.5" sill and 3/4" subfloor and a 5" screw you will be near the Wmax of 590 LB. If you're going for a half wall railing you can amp it up to the DTT1Z with a 0.276 in. x 8 in. Strong-Drive SDWH Timber-Hex HDG Wood Screw. These have a 900 lb rating and are anchored to the stud instead of relying on perpendicular grain compression at the sill to the lobe head. You need 3 of these to meet the 200 lb impact rating requirement for a 2x4 wall. And I recommend at least 1 in the opposite direction to avoid having these pull the wall out of plumb. Again use 1/2" ply on either side and make sure you secure the wall plumb with a brace when you nail off that ply. It will be trying to pull out of plumb on you. You can slam into this wall full force and it won't budge. If you need to add a block for anchorage in the floor the reverse hanger is okay. I really like the A34 clips with #9 x 1-1/2 SD's. These have a 600lb seismic / impact rating, and are pretty easy to install. use 1 of these for the Lobe Head and 2 for the DTT1Z at either end of the block and you're groovy. I think Echo has upgraded their saws substantially since 2023. I saw a review by a very good reviewer, who liked Echo the best in 2025. And I never saw a Stihl ranked lowest decibels in recent reviews. Stilhl was always the highest decibel saw. What happened? Also, the rating for stalling out a saw is kind of pointless. Each saw has its sweet spot when it comes to how fast it cuts through a log and that’s the pressure you want to apply. Any harder, or softer, slows down the cut. What counts is how fast you can cut through a log of any species of wood.

Purchased this snowblower in November 2023. I'm in Eastern Ontario. Clogs constantly. Always had to finish with a shovel. Battery life was dismal. If you don't have at least 1 or 2 extra sets of batteries, there's no way this thing would ever clear the 16 parking spots it promises. I took it out this winter and it wouldn't start. The DeWalt factory service repair place is more than an hour away. They said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to fix and cost a minimum of $500. There doesn't seem to be parts available for it and there's no troubleshooting support etc. Keep in mind, they were saying it was going to cost a minimum of $500 to fix before they even looked at the unit to diagnose the problem. Took it in and they said it was running fine. Got home, wouldn't start. At the factory service repair place (Ottawa), the manager tried to gaslight me and accuse me of misusing the machine. He specifically said that this unit isn't meant for driveways, and I should know it's only meant for walkways. He also said I shouldn't have stored my snowblower in the garage because it's too cold (Yeah, you read that right!) Things got a lot worse really fast. I was discriminated against, yelled at, etc. I was a big DeWalt fan before this happened. I have the new electric lawnmower (I don't recommend it), the electric chainsaw, string trimmer, various saws, drills, etc. but their customer service is beyond terrible. They don't back these new electric snowblowers and they don't value their customers. Thankfully Home Depot agreed to take the unit back for a store credit even though it was way past the return date. I don't feel comfortable purchasing from DeWalt after this experience and I sure as heck won't feel comfortable going to the factory service place in Ottawa while that manager is still working there. I do NOT recommend this product.

3" cut depth to double cut 2"x. I know some production framers used to run 8-¼" Wormdrive skilsaws, Makita has a 120v sidewinder too. They're less cumbersome/expensive than a 10-1/4" & for a production guy setup at the pile they can be time saving moneymakers. * I just checked and the current 120v Skilsaw will cut 2-⅞" whereas makita is 3" even.
