The biggest compliment I can give Ferland is that all throughout the series, I wanted to jump through the TV and knock him out. Basically meaning, he did his job. I distinctly remember when we were up 3-0 in Game 6 and he scored at the end of the 1st and I thought to myself, bad enough that Calgary scored, but Ferland of all people. Knew it would give the Flames a big boost and sure enough we were eliminated. Ferland had a monster series so mad respect to him.

@BrodyYYC6 жыл бұрын
No he was going to be a UFA demanding a ton of money and that's why hes no longer a Flame. When he was playing on a top line instead of a checking line he had less hits because his line had the puck more and were creating things offensively as well as more PP time. As his hits went down his goals went up and I think that's a good trade off. If he was asked skate on a 3rd line and run around hitting again I'm sure he would be able to do that just fine but his game has evolved. I'm hoping the Flames end up resigning him after this season if the Canes don't work something out.

i'm a pens fan but ferland is such a beast! i would love to have him on the pens. he can hit, has some skill, can skate , and is just a ball of energy. but i have a question for flames fans: since he has become a regular in the lineup, does he still go hard and hit like that every shift , or at least every other shift?
@BrodyYYC6 жыл бұрын
A couple spots up my reply to the comment a from DrumhellarParanormal answers that question pretty well I think. Because his breakout was his physical play against Vancouver in 2015 playoffs it's always sort of overshadowed his talent and hockey IQ. He has some good hands and when hes given the chance he knows how to use them. Plus he has a great hard fast shot. He doesn't take shifts off but he also has an extra gear but its gonna burn anyone out playing like that all the time so I think it's also a bit of learning how to be most effective to the team. It certainly wasn't a situation where he plays hard to get something and then starts to become complacent. Like you see from some players after signing big contracts. Oh yeah and some of his fights from his junior days are TKO's. So hes also skilled at fighting. That part has a lot to do with his native blood haha. You don't wanna get in a fist fight with an in shape native!
