Hi Mike! Working on this project! Got the glue-up done, now to wait till the wax coated piece dries. You mention a factor to add to the male threads. Where can I find information on that? Thanks.

Try adding 70% of a thread width and build on your experience.

Hi, Mike...I'm finally getting those some of the videos on my watch list. Good video! The duct-tape-wrapped bricks for gluing pressure might a good topic for one of your tip videos.

Thanks, Rick. I put that on the list. It just such a simple thing but I have to say it is one of my very few original ideas!

You know, I never thought about not touching the piece while it is still spinning. I do that all the time. Kind of a dumb habit to get into. Thanks for the wake up call

Mike, if you were buying a new lathe today would you stick with a Powermatic?
@MikePeaceWoodturning3 жыл бұрын
For a large lathe, yes. I rejected the opportunity for a used Oneway recently. I really like my PM and am actually considering upgrading to the newer C model. But some lathe features are personal. Best to turn on one before buying.

See how you get those long threads or ribbons of wood. I never get them it more dust. What am I doing wrong? I am using extremely dry and very hard wood is that some of the cause?
@MikePeaceWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
Hard dyr wood won't generate the same shavings as green wood but suspect you need to sharpen your tool, ride the bevel and cut with the grain.

Hello Mike. Hope you had a good Fathers Day. At the 8:11 mark was that a Nova live center in the tail stock or another brand? I ask because am going to order a Nova live center kit soon and the one online looks different than the one on this video... Thanks for your time Mike. Ron

That is a cheap Chinese 60 egree cone I bought before I got the Nova live center. I still use it when I want to use a 60 degree cone just because it is more convenient to put my hands on.

Yea a router is scary too. A lot of similarities I guess.
