There is no need to apologise at all, life comes first. I’ve been terrible this year with consistency and with job changes and other life stuff it’s just the way it is for now. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your mum! Congratulations on finishing your first shawl, it’s so beautiful! I look forward to seeing your yarn choices for the shawlography for you Mum!

Awwwh thank you for saying that Aleksandra 💖 It sounds like you've got so much on your plate! I hope things calm down and you're able to take it a bit easier. You're so sweet, thank you 🥰 I'm looking forward to casting on the Shawlography and discovering how all the colours play together!

AGGhgahgg the cat socks are sooo cute! And the cat face actually looks really good and realistic, I'm very impressed. I really want to try dog fur wool as well, do you maybe have enough to make a sweater out of it? Or would that be too scratchy? Love the episode :)
@acornknits2 жыл бұрын
Eeeee thank you!! 😻 I've definitely got enough of the dog wool to make a sweater- it probably would be really scratchy but I could always wear it over clothing so it's not next to skin. Now that you've suggested it, I'll probably end up making a sweater out of it 😅

Love your projects! Especially, the cat socks! Also, I completely agree about Spincycle. While it's lovely, I can't even begin to justify its price point. I've found some comparable fingering weight alternatives in Canada: Patton's Kroy FX, Queensland Perth and there's a Noro that is similar but can't remember the name. Happy knitting!

You're so sweet, thank you! 🥰 I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only person who gets dizzy thinking about the cost of a full sweater's worth of Spincycle! With that said, I think they're totally justified to charge the amount that they do - but it's also fantastic that there's more affordable alternatives out there 😊 I'd never heard of Queensland Perth before, I'll check it out! P.S. *LOVE* your KZbin name by the way, CrabbyChipmunk is just too cute

Your cats are so beautiful! 💙💙 I feel your pain with the cost of some imported yarn here in Australia. Knitting is not an economical hobby at times! Years ago when our dollar was stronger I stashed a lot of Indy dyed yarns I bought directly from American companies. I nearly fainted when I recently checked the price of current replacements here in Australia. I must up my house insurance to cover my stash 😅 Thanks again for another great podcast! Rach, fellow Aussie and double ragdoll owner ☺️

Awwh thanks Rach 😻💕 It's so lovely to have a fellow ragdoll owner and Aussie! That is *such* a savvy move to stock up on overseas yarn when our dollar is strong- it's probably one of the few investments that has increased in value recently. So definitely update your contents insurance since you're sitting on a pot of gold haha 😅🌈💰

I loveeee shawls & even have a bunch of Steven west books & other shawl patterns but I never make them because I’m SO SCARED of that high stitch count 😭😂 you are a TROOPER but it’s stunning 😍 Also those socks are crazzzzyyyy how cool!
@acornknits2 жыл бұрын
I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit daunted by the high stitch count too! 😅 I keep telling myself not to think about it- jump straight in and deal with the consequences later 🤣 Thank you so much!! I'm pretty chuffed with the end result and how well they resemble our cat 😻🧦

@@acornknits there is a shawl called “the pressed flower” shawl on ravelry that’s just so beautiful but it has flower color work, along with that high stitch count… I just keep putting it off.. maybe one day 😂

Those boyfriend socks are incredible! What a lucky guy. I love that the foot section on the socks are complimentary as opposed to similar! Why don't you make felted slippers with you excess yarn from the other socks? And that shawl, what perseverance! and your kitty is the most beautiful kitty ever!
@acornknits2 жыл бұрын
That's super sweet to say, thank you Laurie! 🥰✨ Ohhhh felted slippers are a great idea, I think I will! Awwwwwh thank you, she is definitely the world's most beautiful cat to me (and she definitely knows it) 😅

Love your podcast and your shawl (they are my favorite thing to knit!) But would you please consider to eliminate the background music during the episode? It gets really annoying after a couple of minutes. 🙃 Sorry! But in case you do, thank you 😊
@acornknits2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Elisa! 💞 I appreciate the feedback as well! I'm not sure what the general preference is, sometimes it seems to quiet without the music but I can absolutely see how it could get annoying too 😅
