This is a really great demonstration of the T5 capabilities. It’s mind blowing beautifully executed by Taylor. Thanks for spending more time with it than your previous video.

We have definitely learned a lot since those early videos. The T5z Classic video had to be among the first we ever made. And yes, Taylor has really knocked it out of the park with these hybrids. Fantastic product.

Good demo, demonstrating the natural tones with the dirty ones . This guitar costs around 2300 eur for the most basic model, not cheap.

Nice! What distortion or overdrive are you using in your demo at 14:15? Sounds great!
@tarpley-music11 ай бұрын
It was the amp’s overdrive channel. The amp is a Blackstar St. James with 6L6s.

How loud is it playing unplugged acoustically without the mics? I've got one on hold but I'm now concerned that it will wakeup/disturb my 15-month old during naps and after we put her to bed at 8pm. Since I'm relatively new to guitar play it's important for me to be able to quietly practice at home and while she naps and is in bed sleeping for me would be the ideal times to do so. Would the Taylor T5 Foam Insert set be enough to dampen the acoustic sounds without disturbing other people in our small 1,600 sqft bungalow house? Anyone have suggestions as to what can be done to dampen the natural acoustic sound for at home quiet practice, aside from just purchasing a solid body guitar for home practice use?
@jamesgmusic20 күн бұрын
That's a great question, II would that it could be quiet enough in that situation but I honestly haven't tried. Still a nice audible tone, but it's definitely a lot lot quieter. Around 12:56 I do play it acoustically (although mic'd) That might help ya a bit 🤷♂

How do you deal with feedback on distortion/overdrive? I´ve got original T5 and yes, it is hollow-body but wonder anyway- what are the ways of reducing feedback in T5 case

Just pulled the trigger on the same... will pair it to their Circa74 amp also custom Koa
@tarpley-music5 ай бұрын
It will pair well with the Circa74 on the acoustic setting, but once you switch to the electric pickups the Circa74 will probably break up and distort quickly.
@darylfortney80815 ай бұрын
@@tarpley-music sounds amazing on all settings, no distortion whatsoever . Just added a Fractal fm3

Well that’s impressive. Most acoustic amps can’t handle signal from electric pickups. Props to Taylor!

Tip: When running overdrive, back off the treble and bass - makes the mids pop a bit and takes out the flubbiness. Keep the volume dead center and not at full volume.

For demos we’ve found a flat eq is the best option for setting a baseline. Once you color the sound in a demo it is no longer a true representation of the instrument.

Where is the neck p/u located?

It’s under the fingerboard towards the top of the body.

These guitars always sound a bit harsh and tinny when I hear them played here on youtube. Wondering if thats true in person? Beautiful looking guitars!
@tarpley-music10 ай бұрын
Considering the thinner body, the tinny-ness is going to happend naturally as the top can't flex as much as it can with a larger body. The T5s sound good enough when unpluggged and will get the job done, but by design it is a guitar that is meant to be plugged into an amp.
@udertyrat8 ай бұрын
They sound good in person. You have a lot of flexibility with the tone controls.
@JTroskaTV8 ай бұрын
I have one. I feel like I can coax a better plugged in acoustic sound than heard in most demos with a bit of compression and EQ. It’s never 100% authentic but I like it. The pickups are very “hifi” so the frequencies are there and you just need to sculpt it how you like. But the hifi pickups are, imo, problematic when trying to get electric sounds through a traditional electric guitar amp. They just don’t have that midrange poke to interact with a guitar amp well. So I like it for full range hifi clean “acoustic-ish” sounds on stage. But I’d never use it for aggressive dirty sounds.

Still looking for someone in the net who does a constant strumming pattern. Without any arpeggios. Just strumming basic chords. Would be the best comparison example to a acoustic guitar in my opinion.

Yes we have actually started adding that into some our new videos, just diamonds on basic chords! We agree. Look for some of the new videos as we release them!

12:56 but we did play it acoustically… and it’s not really much of an acoustic guitar, it’s meant to be plugged in. That’s why everyone plays it plugged in.
