American wages are higher than Chinese wages, which accounts for most of the price difference ;)

Question… do all 3 es2 knobs have a detent in the middle position or just 2 of them? On mine it’s just 2
@tarpley-music

Yes, all three have a detent on current models. Could be they didn’t put a detent on the volume knob at one point and then made a revision to the hardware.

@@tarpley-music I also get a mechanical buzz from around where the circuit board is when playing the low e. Might should return it for service. Unfortunately I threw out the box

Great demo, but also disappointed by the sound. 2024 level should sound close to superior drummer or getgood drums. They lack character, mainly present in a good room sound. They mostly sound plastic. Thanks for the video!

Ashtray bridge and brass saddles = £10 Bone nut = £10 Decent alnico pickup set = 70 pounds Setup = 40 pounds Electronics upgrade = 40 pounds Better tuners = 30 = 200 pounds Sure it won't feel as nice and it will always have an inferior body and neck but unless you're a professional musician, totally avoid the American fender. You'd be crazy to buy it to play in local bands or at home. Waste of money.

The guitar itself is a great upgrade for a player with a beginner guitar that wants to stick to the Yamaha line of instruments.

As always a well produced demo video. I always love the In the Mix portion where The Jamey Twins or maybe better yet, The 2 Jame's Gang does double duty with Rythym and Lead. I have a friend that has a Starplayer TV and I will be sending him a link to this demo. He will be chompin at the bit mad at me (in a good way) cuz he knows one of these would be a nice piece next to his Starplayer. All's I am going to say to him iis this "Abdiel, when You do pull the trigger, please do so at the Tarpley store in Burleson where the rest of your Dusenberg Collection is hanging on the wall, awaiting your arrival. Oh, how my naked ears were tortured by the Dusies on the wall.

the acoustic stuff on the acoustasonic sound great but the single coil sounds like shit honestly. everything on the t5 sounds great. it also looks about a hundred times better, even the one you were playing which is their ugliest model. i say this as a massive fan of fender. the acoustasonics are very disappointing imo. never played the acoustasonic personally but i've messed with the t5z at a guitar center once. it was fun to play

Depends on the aesthetic you want. The quilted tops look great in person, but if you’d rather have an arch top and save the cost then go for the JS22.

Nice guitars for the price. The only thing I don't like on them is the FR 1000, which is inferior to a German made Floyd. Necks are nice, body is lightweight and well carved.

None of those tones would be useable, IMO. Its trying too hard to be a jack of all trades, but it doesnt do anything particularly well.

Looks easy enough, however, you said save it as a template but you never showed the user how to save it as a template. I know,... you would think the user would think to click make Default, ... right? Well some have hit OK and that setup was gone and they had to start over. Please complete the instruction as if you were doing it for the first time. Other than that, Great Video.

I'm glad you did this review. I have the same exact guitar you're playing. When I tried it at guitar center 4 years ago.. I was amazed and hooked. I got some $ off because of some scratches. Great little guitar. Nice tone, stays in tune, plays very comfortable and a price you can't beat. I even used it for a song on one of my past CDs. Will use it for another upcoming recording.

There have been some comments about MIJ basswood bodies in this comment section. There is nothing wrong with basswood. I own two International Color MIJ Stratocasters. Red and Yellow. One with a maple neck the other with rosewood(red one). The basswood is very light. The yellow guitar is 7 lbs and the red one is 7lbs 2oz. I also own an American Pro 2 strat with an alder body. It is heavier. The MIJ strats are amazing quality. My American strat has more features and different hardware but the Japanese strats hold their own against it. I prefer the basswood because of its lightness. I would choose a basswood body strat over an alder, all other things being equal. 🎸👍

The price difference isn’t totally all about sound. It’s things like but not limited to pots, locking tuners, and most important to me is the feel in the hands. Obviously all of this can be addressed to the squire.
