magnatracks i heard is nice solution but you must buy and silent cymbals to set them up on them so with this point of view the cost increased.

I also have a PRT e-drum. Using ddrum red shot drigger on Tom & floor Tom. On the bass also but I use real drum head Remo with the thick foam around the batter head it trigger great with port hole in front. Using ddrum interface with drummer 3. As for snare I use a cheap griffin snare 10”x 6” converted to digital use e-drum trigger inside and plug it in the side . I use a 11” rubber pad mounted next to my hi-hat as a rim shoot. As for cymbals I use real Sabian cymbals I don’t like e- cymbals. And I mic 🎤 my cymbals . Center above me catch’s all my cymbal sounds. Everything is coming through a mixer to a 18” subwoofer & a 12” speaker. Amp I use is a peavey 1600 watts. Sounds fabulous. I play worship music.

I built my E kit for under $100, I mean It is No Flag Ship Roland Kit but but it gets the job done. I made my Own Triggers by buying Piezo electric sensors and got some Foam things that girls use to put on make up that looks like an egg and I`m surprised it sounds as good asit does. I`m using just an Alesis Nitro Module " I actually have 2 alesis Nitro Modules but one is for sell" and if Your Kit is considered a frankenstien kit then mine would be a generic Edward sissor hands kit built by frankenstien. :-) Good video man.

I just converted my 66 Ludwigs to electric. I love my td20 but this conversion feels soooo good! Especially the large 20" compared to an 8" bass. I used a 20" Silentstroke with 2 pillows and an Evans eq Patch. Used a Roland rt10k trigger mounted on top and it works and feels surprisingly well. Felt better than the kd140 I tried on the td50.

I have a question, is there a way to do this on a smaller scale without spending a lot? I’m looking at a $200 Ludwig quest pocket kit. I only plan on converting the snare and kick, and then buy a used electric hi hat. I have ez drummer 3 and an audio interface already. I think it should cost me about 5-6 hundred after buying the mesh heads and electronics. Does that sound about right? Or am I missing something
@johndef5075

You should be able to do that for that price.

Why you keep your bass drum head loose?? This will decrease his lifespan of mesh i think and you didn't take some big difference in feel.. also maybe it help a bit to the false triggering or retrigger .Do you have double triggers when you play heel down??
@tempoleaguedrums
@tempoleaguedrums Жыл бұрын
There is a big enough difference in feel for me when I have it loose vs when I have it tight that I prefer to keep it as loose as possible. Feels closer to a real kick drum to me. If that decreases the mesh head’s life so be it, I’d still prefer the feel of it.

@@tempoleaguedrums Maybe i have mistake thought that mesh will damaged soon if it's loosed but mesh are so expensive and thats why i think about it.Of course if that way fits to your feel i understand it , personally i always played my real kick way too loosed too but it was acoustic and loosen means basses it has not related as electronics needs good trigggering and i'm still way too new to these to know if loosen triggers good too, also maybe mesh isn't so fragile as i thought.

@@Drumsholic oh yea I forgot to answer your question about mis-triggers that can happen with a loose head. I have had a bit of that but I’ve been able to solve those issues with just a little tweaking of the scan time in the edrumin software.

What do you think about Alesis trigger io as main module and superior drummer only??It works??
@tempoleaguedrums
@tempoleaguedrums 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure about Alesis Trigger IO, haven’t researched it at all. But if you’re just starting out and don’t have super high expectations for how the module will handle subtle nuances like ghost notes, or buzz rolls, it could be worth a shot!

@@tempoleaguedrums I made it and i use EZDrummer2 Rock Solid Expansion but it's a hybrid kit (i Use Real Cymbals with Overhead Mics) all others are triggered with triggers i made myself DIY , i have a small video on my channel with a song recorded with this kit you can check it if you interested to trigger builds are some ideas itake from here YT but Bassdrum is clear my idea! Finally Alesis Trigger io works perfectly and is very easy to set it up !! Also i can use a Yamaha module i have the DD-65 via MIDI cable and play with the sounds that module has if i want play live and afraid to trust the software(many e-drummers afraid problems and do the same i heard).

@@tempoleaguedrums my inner need to play and to do it without i was a disturber of anyone's life lead me to do it, as many drummers i hate electronics for many reasons but is an one way road if you want to play and you haven't other way and you didn't have a millionaire budget to reach it so you run your ideas to do things yourself and decrease the cost.Now i'm in researching to build my own cymbals too, i find some way and ideas but i stack to the separation of zones at the same surface... seems huge difficult and maybe try to put layers of different surfaces so this will separate the zones. Also i'm little sceptical if the vibrations didn't function for the zones working independently.Crosstalk it helps for sure.Choke function is something i'm not considered to have it cause of the exactly equipment needed for this.Also i have a thought finally that electronic drumming isn't so expensive when you decide to not selling your life in Roland and we have other ways to make it happen.
