Did Collings introduce a new voicing/bracing for tops at the Summit for D and OM models? They talk about that at the end of the video but I'm not seeing anything on the Collings website. Or maybe they're referring to the different voicing that the traditional models have?

Yamaha always adds extra compensation angle at the saddle, thus, angling back the low E more than most other makers. Just look at their saddle angle compared to most of the other hand mades. Yamaha has always done this on all their acoustics. What that does is 2-fold; Besides giving their guitars better intonation out the gate, when a Yamaha guitar ages and the top naturally flexes a bit along with the common neck joint shifting, the saddle usually needs to be lowered just to maintain the action. Well, due to this sever factory compensation, the intonation for the lower strings stays great, whereas other maker's guitars suffer from a low E that's usually ends up quite sharp at the 12th as it ages. Never mind that you can also compensate the saddle by hand as well. Not sure if this sever angle was chosen on purpose in the early days of Yammy steel strings or it was just dumb luck, and they went with it. Either way.... it's awesome and other makers could learn from this.
