There may be a few other groups in history who were as good as the Acoustix but, for sure, there's never been one better. I hated to see Jeff Oxley leave the group but he went on to more great accomplishments in music in Texas. I just wish we had more than the few videos that are available. I've watched them all numerous times--my favorite being Blackbird Bye Bye. Fantastic!

One of these fine gentlemen's fathers was with the original Suntones. My Dad,Johnny Wearing competed against them in the very early 1960s with the Chordaroys. The Suntones took it all and the Chords were near the bottom. It did start an almost 60 year friendship.I also had the thrill to see my Dad sing a tag with these guys,The Acoustix in Ann Arbor,Michigan in I believe 1991. Dad could still sing pretty damn good tenor well into his 80s and he captivated the room.

They headlined our chapter show in 1993. I got to hear them from the wings. Tremendous quartet at that time.

Spot on barbershop in their prime! And their wardrobe really makes me miss the 90's. It's funny how each decade manages to have its own 'look', thought of as normal in the moment as we look back on those 'funny' clothes of earlier decades. This looks like the 90's opened up and threw up all over them! Still, spot on barbershop!

Max Q joked about this on their "Here's To The Losers" song: "Jeff's not a loser, he's a real cool guy. If you ask him, he's happy to tell you why"... I still get the vibes of him being kind of a snob, but he probably is a good guy...

Wow, low key for this is the moment. Still handled it well though! Jeff is a beast

ND Bass agreed. So many great basses in the society but Jeff is my favorite. His blend with Jason and Gary is so good. I love that sound. Realtime had a similar timbre. Where do you sing NDbass?

I guess Jeff's voice was very tired after the concert.
