My Thoughts on the discontinued 2015 release from Giorgio Armani "Acqua Di Gio Profumo" and I expose a fragrance seller on Mercari who tried to scam me with a fake bottle of Profumo !!

While we are still in the colder seasons I highly recommend Jaipur EDP! Also made by Annick Menardo who did Acqua di Gio. Can be had for like 30 bucks. It’s powder, cinnamon, and a slight citrus note. It’s a very luxurious and interesting one which also happens to last forever! Cheers and good vid.

Awesome review Kelan! Like you, I slept on this for a while because I really enjoyed the original, and don’t think a flanker could be so much better. It’s now easily my favorite designer fragrance!

Profumo was the best ADG, unfortunately discontinued. Fortunately, the new Parfum is basically Profumo tweaked. Most people would not know the difference. To me, all the flankers are better than the OG bc they all take it further and last way longer.

Hi Kelan, AdG Profumo is a very nice one, however, you don‘t need to backup, b/c the new Parfum is 99% the same scent! Some talk BS like „different scent, watered down, blabla“. Trust me, in the first 10 seconds it is ever so slightly fresher/greener, but then it is 100 % the same scent. BR from Germany, Dan

This is a solid cologne. Nice review. It’s definitely the odd ball in your review catalog being so new and more modernized. I expect your next review to be Sauvage lol. Hope all is well. Scent today boss bottled Oud.

I own the special blend version that one is black & gold its a nicer bottle as for the fragrance itself I'd say its more dark & less aquatic. Worth picking up if you ever get a chance as I know its hard to find now

The first video I watched was the Drakkar Noir review and I've been coming back every time since. I know it's late but I like to make sure before subbing to a channel and now i'm definitely subbing my favourite series is definitely Then & Now. Can't wait to see where the channel goes 😁👍

That's a great flanker of Acqua di Gio. A great release on Giorgio Armani. Magcap, great masterpiece. That one is discontinued and there's a new now "parfum" version of profumo with black to clear gradient bottle, non-magcap, still the same scent tho.

Great review, Kelan! I'm glad to hear that Mercari took care of you. I've been fortunate so far on Mercari and haven't been sold a fake or had a buyer try to scam me. I actually just sold my 4.2oz bottle of Profumo and made sure to take tons of pictures in case someone tries to scam me by switching my bottle for a fake and initiating a dispute with Mercari. Was the dispute process pretty smooth?

It was the first time that’s ever happened to me on Mercari as well, every person I have dealt with has been very nice. This guy seemed that way and only sold fragrances so I felt good about it, but he turned out to be a fraud and I knew something was up when he messaged me about it being delivered implying I should rate him immediately so he gets his money, glad I waited. But the whole return process was smooth Mercari looked at the bottle and my explanation and sided with me within 2 days

Didn't have the best impression of this one when it first came out. The tester I sprayed it from must've gone bad or something, but after testing it over another few months I really came to appreciate what Morillas had done. Not the biggest fan of the line tbh beyond the OG formulation from '96, but it's stood the test of time, so it deserves props. Aside from the edp which is just an atrociously cheap woody amber. That one gets the dump. 😆 I see they did the same thing with the newest edp of Profondo. Shame.

Initially up close I was so so on it as well but once I wore it more and smelled it in the air and got that incense and patchouli hits it was awesome

I was just in Chinatown in NYC this weekend. They had tons of fakes of these. They looked real too but when you smell them it was like they used 10 ml of the real stuff and watered the rest down with alcohol.

Yes I almost got swindled myself. The bottle, box and cellophane looked pretty authentic but every box on the shelf had the same UPC code. 😂 The guy chased me down the street taking 10 bucks off every 20 feet.

I recently bought a fragrance on ebay and I'm having the same issue. It smells different from how it should. I even have a sample vial and when I smell them side by side they smell different. The sample smells a lot smoother.

Yeah I will say this is the first time it’s ever happened to me, I have had many instances of sour vintage bottles but that’s different than a fake so I was excited to expose that seller

On ebay sells many fake perfume, I was scammed a couple of time, first a with a profumo and then with a versace pour homme. Both fake perfume.

I don't understand the need for all these alternatives of things that work well enough, i.e. Ebay, PayPal, etc. I've been with both of them for 20 years and never had a problem. Then out of nowhere, people want me to go to this site or that site, new logins and passwords. So annoying and pointless.

Not sure what you are getting at ? Like what do I use Mercari to sell on ? If that’s the question it’s just way easier as a seller, as a buyer yes you create an account then you can use pay pal to purchase through the app just like eBay

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I doubt it's easier, I can have a sale up in about 3 minutes on Ebay, it takes no effort at all. The point is multiple duplications of something that works is unnecessary and risky. The other day I wanted to send money to my sister. But instead of the proven Paypal that's been around for over 20 years, she wanted me to use one of 4 different apps that I don't have and don't want to sign up for. The other day, I wanted something that was only available on Poshmart or some crap. I fell for it and immediately got 50 spams a day for a week and the item was never shipped and now I'm waiting for all kinds of bullshit criteria to pass before I get refunded. I have over 700 feedbacks at 100% on Ebay, and no credibility anywhere else. Any other site, I'm starting from zero.

It now called Aqua de Gio Parfum... its the same juice. Also also Lattafa Suqraat is a 95% dupe for $40

The reason they discontinued the Profumo is that they reformulated it to the new Acqua Di Gio Parfum. The new one is smoother and lasts longer, but doesn't have that fantastic kick in the opening. Overall, i actually prefer the new version. I sold my two backup bottles and the one i was using and got the new one. The Fragrance Apprentice said it best: Sometimes, you just have to let it go. I just heard, they're coming out with a new Profondo in 2024 according to the latest news. Probably the same deal, with a " new and improved" formula. But could also be a limited edition.

I don't buy fragrances online, EVER. I buy from a number of reputable retailers and discounters within my area. Their prices are very competitive to those online, and I don't have to pay added shipping along with the wait time. I've also purchased a few secondhand bottles from local individual sellers. Haven't had a fake bottle yet and believe me, I'd know if I did.

Ehh this is the first time that has ever happened to me and I was able to correct it, online is so easy and prices are better and I live around majority retail department stores. Idk how you don’t buy online but to each his own

I don’t know if you’ve tested the new “parfum” but it’s suppose to be a clone of this. I’ve worn both. The Profumo seems to actually last a lot longer than the new parfum :(
