Always so fun to see you and your mom doing a project together. Strawberries on the lower levels for the grandkids, what a sweet idea! As you were planting your own beanstalks and sharing about being overwhelmed with choices, and losing sight of then returning to the starting goal, I realized that I have been implementing that same approach recently. Feeling overwhelmed is so familiar, but taking a step back and regrouping, simplifying, these are new to me. And I learned it from you. 🙂 I so enjoy how you give us the whole picture, not just the familiar or successful bits. You’re not afraid to learn as you go, and that makes your videos so much more interesting. Thank you.

Here in pa we call the small varieties “wild strawberries” these are the ones that take over as weed like plants. The white strawberries (usually sold in stores) are pine berries bc they are a pineapple strawberry flavor. And then strawberry plants that you buy are just strawberries

One recipe we like in the crock pot is honey mustard chicken and veggies. We start by putting the chopped onion in the bottom it creates the juice. Then any chicken you want top with potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Add 1full bottle of honey mustard salt and pepper to taste and cook on high for 4 hours. I have done it on med for 8 hours before. No water needed

Thanks for sharing your greenstalks with us! Just an idea that I did this past summer here is Oz...I made a kitchen garden for my balcony which is closest to my kitchen...all my herbs went into the pots. It was such a great idea that some of my friends did it too, even the ones with no garden, who just had a balcony in an apartment! All we have to do is step outside and snip off what we want. I've now planted some lettuce in a mini lightweight greenhouse out there and just snip off the leaves for a salad. My veggie patch is further away from my kitchen so this worked so well for convenience! Happy planting!

I love crockpots for easy dinners. I don't usually do lasagna in one, because I prefer the consistency of and depth in a pan in the oven. I DO have a casserole crockpot though which is great if I want to do a casserole especially for a party or buffet meal. Enchiladas turn out great. In a regular crockpot use any of your freezer meal meat marinades you have posted recently. My family's favorite favorite meal in the crockpot is one called Key West Ribs from Pillsbury. Been making. It for probably 20 years at least. 2 1/2 lb country-style pork loin ribs 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1/4 cup barbecue sauce 1 teaspoon grated lime peel 2 tablespoons lime juice 1 teaspoon grated orange peel 1/4 cup orange juice 1/2 teaspoon salt In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, place pork ribs. In small bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs. 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 9 hours. Spoon sauce over ribs. Serve with rice and black beans, and a sprinkle of cilantro, and lime.

Since you went into detail about how you did not add lemon juice to your tomato sauce, according to the "USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning" on page 3-5 it says you need add acidification to tomato products whether you water bath can "or" pressure can. Under standard tomato sauce it is in bold to add acitification. Pressure canning does not changethe need to add acitification. Just thought you would want to know since people watch your canning videos.
@suzetteblair8419 Жыл бұрын
I may be wrong and don’t have the time at the moment to go back and watch the video (I’m back in from lunch) but I believe she said she added onions to the tomato mixture which are high in acidity if I’m not mistaken.
@sherylh4780 Жыл бұрын
@@suzetteblair8419 If i am wrong I apologize. Using the direction in the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning for tomato juice or vegetable juice with onions you still have to add acitification. Stewed Tomatoes with onions require acitification. Again, if I am wrong I apologize. I will still be putting lemon juice in my canned tomato products. It is just to easy to put in a little sugar in if it is to tart. I know she said she didn't want to put sugar in it.
