My mom was 4’8” around 90 pounds and she would get 25+ pound turkey to feed our large family. This thing was huge watching her prep that, my dad would have to help her lift it up so she could season it, we kids would laugh because it was so big, what great memories this video triggered seeing both my parents have passed. Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

I'm so sorry for such a horrible end to your Mum's life. In my country we were in level three restrictions of covid and my city was on lockdown for about 4 months at that point and the hostiples had just started to get back to doing non emergency surgery and my mum was called up to have much needed hip replacement surgery. She had a fall the night before and ended up not being able to walk because she injured her hip. We were not allowed to visit her but we finally heard from her that they took her to the main hospital after having xrays to see why her hip was stopping her from walking after the fall. To cut a long story short they found that she was riddled with stage four cancer. She was so drugged up that she wasn't answering her phone and we couldn't get any sense from the nurses. We kept trying to get hold of her doctors and finally a week later they called my dad in to have a meeting where they told him about the cancer and told him she had a matter of weeks left. He brought her home as her wish was to die at home. I had moved back home about five years beforehand because I was terminally ill. She passed away a few months later the day after Christmas. Thirteen months later to the day I found my Dad after he unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. I didn't know how I could keep going without them as they were not just my parents but I considered them as close friends. Even though it wasn't covid that took their lives it impacted the time we had together. My lifelong specialists gave me two years at the most to live and so far it's been 14 years and while my quality of life is not good I promised them when I was given two years that I will always fight for my life and that is what I'm doing. I wish you and your loved ones all the best in life.😊❤

My mom has pretty advanced dementia and it's been a couple of years since she could do these kinds of activities, but they used to be some of our favorite. We've always been super close and best friends, so it's especially hard losing these little bonding moments slowly over time. Thanks for the reminder of how special those times are and we're, and how thankful I am that I had as many as I did with her. We went to the website for the pumpkin cheesecake. I agree with Becky that the crust needs 1/2 the sugar and that instead of pumpkin with the sugar and spices, that it would be better with plain pumpkin but keeping the added sugar and added spices. We did make the whipped cream but substituted half the vanilla for natural rum flavoring. Caramel salted pralines would be good on it.

Hi, my husband was told by a butcher years ago that you can take a completely frozen turkey and put it in cold water the night before you need to season/cook it and if you change the water every 2-3 hours, it will be totally thawed. I thought that sounded too good to be true but it works. The only downfall is that someone has to get up and drain/fill the sink every 2-3 hours so we just too turns and it was fine.

I also ran water inside and cleaned it up. Good to go a little bit later. Except for the year that … Funny story, went with my neighbor about 8 years ago and we ordered fresh turkeys to pick up the day before Thanksgiving. Thinking they weren’t frozen. Little did we know they would be frozen. Major thawing happened to try to get ready for the next day. It all worked out in the end; just a much later dinner time. We remember the misses more than the successes. Makes memories fun to look back on. Always love you and your Mom shopping and cooking❤️

Homesteading family uses either a Bosch or breville because they have large numbers at their table regularly. She said that she needs a workhorse and the motor is particularly strong. She also mentioned a dicer function adapter which really helps her during harvest season. Check in with her.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed watching you both prepare your feast. I wasn't with my parents or siblings this year and somehow you sharing your beautiful family with us was so comforting. Cooking with my family is one of my joys in life, and it was lovely to watch you all. Thank you and Happy belated Thanksgiving. Your channel is lovely.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Enjoyed watching you & Mom cooking together. She is a good planner doing things. It was amazing watching you both pull it all together. Everything looked so yummy. Love the pop tart houses. They all looked so cute. What a great idea. You both did a great job from start to finish. That was alot of work. It’s nice that your Dad & Josh help with the clean up. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! 👍🦃😃

Thanksgiving is such a fun meal to cook, isn't it? This year I used my roaster oven to warm the two stuffings and the mashed potatoes...worked brilliantly. No burnt edges like in a crock pot and they didn't dry out either. Looks like you had a wonderful family celebration.

Love how y'all work together ❤️ My mom & I would do the same. This year has been very different. She has cancer & Thanksgiving dinner was not the same. However, we have so much to be thankful for. She is still with us & that is such a blessing. This video made me cry & it gave me hope for the future. I pray my mom & I have many years of cooking & enjoying each other's company. Thanks for sharing & I would enjoy watching more videos with you two... the dynamic duo ❤️ BTW... can you share the recipe for the rolls? They looked scrumptious!

Hi Becky and Mom!! Love your videos…a suggestion that will make your alarm setting easier. Simply say “Hey, Siri..set an alarm for 10am.” Then repeat the process and Mom no longer has to type out any of the alarms. Simply ask Siri to do it. I hope it helps!!! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!🎄
