My mom was 4’8” around 90 pounds and she would get 25+ pound turkey to feed our large family. This thing was huge watching her prep that, my dad would have to help her lift it up so she could season it, we kids would laugh because it was so big, what great memories this video triggered seeing both my parents have passed. Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

@@billdickhaus Oh my goodness. A compliment given to another doesn't impose anything on you. My couple sentences of compliments were not all encompassing of every trait each has. I chose to list a few that touch my heart. Why are you so offended about a gesture of kindness not directed to you? You're not trying to impose your view on others, are you? These compliments to two people aren't yours to own or to try to change/revise.

Lost my mom on my birthday in June, 2020. Because of COVID, we couldn't even get to see her at the hospital during her 77 day ordeal. I miss her so much. She was my best travel buddy. We were very close. Seeing you with your mom, makes me smile and yearn for mine. Wishing you both long and healthy lives to enjoy each other's company. Every minute one spends with mom is a treasure.

I'm so sorry for such a horrible end to your Mum's life. In my country we were in level three restrictions of covid and my city was on lockdown for about 4 months at that point and the hostiples had just started to get back to doing non emergency surgery and my mum was called up to have much needed hip replacement surgery. She had a fall the night before and ended up not being able to walk because she injured her hip. We were not allowed to visit her but we finally heard from her that they took her to the main hospital after having xrays to see why her hip was stopping her from walking after the fall. To cut a long story short they found that she was riddled with stage four cancer. She was so drugged up that she wasn't answering her phone and we couldn't get any sense from the nurses. We kept trying to get hold of her doctors and finally a week later they called my dad in to have a meeting where they told him about the cancer and told him she had a matter of weeks left. He brought her home as her wish was to die at home. I had moved back home about five years beforehand because I was terminally ill. She passed away a few months later the day after Christmas. Thirteen months later to the day I found my Dad after he unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. I didn't know how I could keep going without them as they were not just my parents but I considered them as close friends. Even though it wasn't covid that took their lives it impacted the time we had together. My lifelong specialists gave me two years at the most to live and so far it's been 14 years and while my quality of life is not good I promised them when I was given two years that I will always fight for my life and that is what I'm doing. I wish you and your loved ones all the best in life.😊❤

As an full time American missionary living and working in Nairobi, Kenya, thanksgiving with family this year was not an option. When you were describing how the turkey smells in the oven, the beauty of the ham in the smoker, the silkiness of the mashed potatoes in the crock pot, etc... and in that instance, I just closed my eyes and dreamed I was back home with all the feels. I never take for granted this Thanksgiving season and what it represents. And for YOU, I am forever grateful. Thank you.

I've only recently found your channel and am watching through all your videos. I can't tell you how therapeutic it is for me to watch the holiday prep videos with your mom. My mom has pretty advanced dementia and it's been a couple of years since she could do these kinds of activities, but they used to be some of our favorite. We've always been super close and best friends, so it's especially hard losing these little bonding moments slowly over time. Thanks for the reminder of how special those times are and we're, and how thankful I am that I had as many as I did with her. As I write I this is currently hospitalized and we are probably starting Hospice care, so I really appreciate reliving some of my favorite memories with her through your videos. ❤

We went to the website for the pumpkin cheesecake. I agree with Becky that the crust needs 1/2 the sugar and that instead of pumpkin with the sugar and spices, that it would be better with plain pumpkin but keeping the added sugar and added spices. We did make the whipped cream but substituted half the vanilla for natural rum flavoring. Caramel salted pralines would be good on it.

I love watching mom and daughter in the kitchen together! You both work so well together. My mom and I sometimes struggle with that. She is a perfectionist, and I'm more easy going. In her home, it's her way, and in my home, it's her way. Lol. But I cherish the memories and moments all the same. I always relate to your videos, because just like you, I spill things, I make mistakes too. It is so refreshing to see someone post everything. It is inspiring! Some content creators are intimidating with only perfection on display. They struggle too, but you are humble enough to show the struggle. Thanks so much! This is a well oiled machine. I am sure Becky’s family appreciates the result but possibly they aren’t aware of the behind the scenes efforts that Becky and her mum put into this event. Phew! Amazing! And … I have only just started watching this, Part Two.

I got to meet her for the first time about 10 years ago (family drama), the year after my dad passed away. It was super cool to see my dad's adult signature and his signature as a small kid. It works great except on the one thing I make a ton of and that is Royal icing. It breaks the paddles. The paddles they use for the icing are made of plastic at the connection. They aren't strong enough. So it sits un used in my cabinet. I would LOVE for you to have it. Let me know how I can send it to you. I have tons of fun attachments as well. Hi, my husband was told by a butcher years ago that you can take a completely frozen turkey and put it in cold water the night before you need to season/cook it and if you change the water every 2-3 hours, it will be totally thawed. I thought that sounded too good to be true but it works. The only downfall is that someone has to get up and drain/fill the sink every 2-3 hours so we just too turns and it was fine.

We used turkey cooking bags, when cooking a turkey. It Cooks faster and stays really moist! It hasn't failed us yet. One year, when our kids raised turkeys for 4-H, our turkey butcher out weighed over 30lbs! We had to get a bone saw and saw it in half, to cook it!

Tomorrow I am going to my moms house for preparing all the candies and sweets for Christmas! We are preparing for 3 families,my moms home, mine and my brothers!I love those times!Every time I am in the kitchen with my mom I love it and I treasure it!Even in the coronovarius period where we were forbidden to go outside our home, I remember that we cooked for Christmas via video call!We spend hours to try to communicate because my mom was having hard time to use video call but we laughed so much.We even forgot some moments that we weren’t together physically!Bravo to your family! You deserve admiration for your personality and your kindness and love to offer to your loved ones❤❤

Our turkey was still mostly frozen, as well. :D We ended up eating a little later, which was ok. Love that brown sugar ham. Is the son-in-law Southern, because we do that here. I LOVE mashed potatoes in the crock pot. What a game-changer! Everything looks so pretty, hope ya'll had a great time.

I also left my 20 lb Turkey out for about five hours and then in the refrigerator since Sunday. First time I ever still had ice in mine also doing the times given for thawing. I also ran water inside and cleaned it up. Good to go a little bit later. Except for the year that … Funny story, went with my neighbor about 8 years ago and we ordered fresh turkeys to pick up the day before Thanksgiving. Thinking they weren’t frozen. Little did we know they would be frozen. Major thawing happened to try to get ready for the next day. It all worked out in the end; just a much later dinner time. We remember the misses more than the successes. Makes memories fun to look back on. Always love you and your Mom shopping and cooking❤️

Homesteading family uses either a Bosch or breville because they have large numbers at their table regularly. She said that she needs a workhorse and the motor is particularly strong. She also mentioned a dicer function adapter which really helps her during harvest season. Check in with her.

Everything looked so yummy. Love the pop tart houses. They all looked so cute. What a great idea. You both did a great job from start to finish. That was alot of work. It’s nice that your Dad & Josh help with the clean up. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! 👍🦃😃

Thanksgiving is such a fun meal to cook, isn't it? This year I used my roaster oven to warm the two stuffings and the mashed potatoes...worked brilliantly. No burnt edges like in a crock pot and they didn't dry out either. Looks like you had a wonderful family celebration.

Love how y'all work together ❤️ My mom & I would do the same. This year has been very different. She has cancer & Thanksgiving dinner was not the same. However, we have so much to be thankful for. She is still with us & that is such a blessing. This video made me cry & it gave me hope for the future. I pray my mom & I have many years of cooking & enjoying each other's company. Thanks for sharing & I would enjoy watching more videos with you two... the dynamic duo ❤️ BTW... can you share the recipe for the rolls? They looked scrumptious!

Hi Becky and Mom!! Love your videos…a suggestion that will make your alarm setting easier. Simply say “Hey, Siri..set an alarm for 10am.” Then repeat the process and Mom no longer has to type out any of the alarms. Simply ask Siri to do it. I hope it helps!!! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!🎄
