Hello, So a tip on your watermelon. What works great for me is a tip I ran across somewhere. Watch the top of the melon, specifically The little tiny spoon leaf and the curly Q right next to the melon top. Should find it right on the vine where the melon stem connect. Once the spoon leaf dries pay close attention to the curly Q. Once the curly Q is dried up it is ripe. I hope this helps.

You are so lucky to have a chicken feed available that looks like feed in it's original form.

When our chicks were 3 weeks old we had a trip and I didn't want to leave them indoors, so instead I put them in their spacious (and extremely safe) coop with abundance of food and water for 3 days as I traveled. I connected their brooder to an extension cord so that they could stay warm there. It worked beautifully! But this was Florida in the summer. Regardless, even in the winter I think the brooder would help.

The chicks need a coop and not only an enclosed run. I have 19 hens and two coops, one 4x8 and one 2x3. The majority choose the 2x3. Crazy chickens!

cube it up and put it in the fridge, I think that helps. My neighbor and I exchange our overages from the garden and I did this with the same breed of watermelon and it was much better.

let the watermelon stay on the vine until it disconnects from the vine when you roll the melon back and forth

I love watching your channel, ive learned alot from them. I just got my very first batch of chicks last Friday! My question being in north Alabama, i can also transfer my chicks to the outside coop at 8-10 weeks as well, or should there be a "middle" stage coop for them when they are to big for the brooder but still to small for the coop?? This is my very first flock ever..

Great videos! You might try growing Crimson Sweet watermelons 🍉. They've been great here for me in Tennessee. Lifesavers for the chickens! When I've had all I want, the chickens clean the rind. Deer bust lots here and the chickens enjoy those. Keep up the great work!

Don't feel bad about the fate of Salt & Peppa. You have given them the best life a pig could wish for with the best food a pig could enjoy. In return, they are going to give you several months' worth of nourishment from the most delicious pork you hope for. You have taken care of them & soon they will take care of you. It's a beautiful relationship when you think about it. Tragic beauty, but beauty nonetheless.
