Hey Jim & Ted this is one great ep I really enjoyed. The fish you caught in the river was amazing. Grayling and even a Lake trout you would think was caught from Great Slave lake nice catch & release. A fish of a life time. Enjoyed myself watching you guys having a blast in this beautiful area with cool wildlife surrounding you. Take care. Rick from Ottawa.

I am a Spanish keen follower of Jim Baird´s adventures. This one across the Arctic wilderness is among the best things you can find in KZbin. Simply brutally gorgeous. That solitude, those bare hills traversed by caribou, moose, wolfes,...those clean deep lakes with plenty of lake trout, grayling...awesome...and the mosquitos! Finally a comment of yours satisfied a curiosity I had for a long time about grayling. In Spain there are no grayling and I have never had one in my hands. But I had heard that its scientific name “thymallus” referred to the smell of thyme that this fish had just out of the water. This is something I have asked several times to people who have caught grayling, but nobody could give me a concrete answer until you did: a cooked grayling tastes/smells like thyme. Thank you very much. Also that big, gorgeous lake trout with those wonderful orange tones...A terrific fight with that monster pulling line...surrounded by a unique river landscape...awesome.

I grew up elk hunting on horseback into Washington's Glacier Peak area, mule deer hunting in Sinlahekin are, pheasant hunting in Quincy area, crabbing, shrimping, and claiming in Puget Sound and ocean Salmon fishing from Westport and Neah Bay in my father's boats...salmon were 50 and 60 pounds when I was small. Halibut, lingcod, red snapper and perch out off the jetty.....As years went by we chose to fish for silvers to smoke and can.....life with dad was a dream most outdoorsman dream of.

Hello Jim, a nice and entertaining video again. I am convinced that it was not just the favorable location, the source of drinking water or the perhaps fertile soil or the animal population why an indigenous group settled there in tents. But also, as with our Germanic ancestors, the magic of a place. Many greetings from the German low mountain range. Alex
