S02E09 Completed: Again great sequence of sailing in different conditions, one thing I noticed which I used when filming Weddings was Edit in the Camera. I saw this when Richard walked towards the camera and next clip he is walking away. I keep admiring the new look Arch and great feature was the pulley system for getting the outboard motor onto Bob. xx❤️💙⛵️ (For me catching up its Monday 4th November 2024) xx

I'll be interested to see if you experience any seastate confusion when passing the heel of the boot, where two seas converge? We experienced it a few years ago, seas were totally unrelated to winds or weather systems.
@sailinghelios20236 ай бұрын
Hi Mark, we will cross from Crotone to Preveza so will be about 35Nm below the heel so I doubt we would see this effect that far south.

Usual story. Calling in from Nz. So stumbled on your channel. Liked and subscribed. Temps seem to be up and down along that southern coast, going by your choice of clothing.? Very curious for down there. Anyway thanks for sharing. Take care.
@sailinghelios20236 ай бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. At this time of the season the north wind is still quite cold so depending on the wind direction the temperature changes a lot. Once the European continent heats up there does seem to be much of a difference, bloody hot in both directions

Hah! You can blame me (Jude) for them. I got them in Australia for Richard and, being the champ he is, he’s wearing them 😊.

Was going to say it’s an Australian thing- I wear them at the beach and don’t care what anyone thinks

@@sailinghelios2023 Last time I checked, it's YOUR boat so wear what YOU want. No one complains about your incredible bikinis, especially when you wear only the bottoms under your PFD! 😉

I apologize if you have already covered this, but you seem to read the weather _realy_ well, more so than some sailors I know. What’s your sailing background? And professional - you strike me as an engineer or scientist?
@sailinghelios20233 ай бұрын
Thank you. I did an honours degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering but worked in IT all my working career. I think being a sailor you get exposed to the weather a lot and with a science background it allows you to understand what you are seeing in a different way. Regards Richard

Great to see you both minimally dressed (even given the ridiculous print on Richard's suit). So many channels have the woman flouncing about in a tiny bikini while the man wears knee-pants. Guys like to wear little/nothing too!
@sailinghelios20236 ай бұрын
We agree!amd frankly it’s too hot to wear much at all. I (Jude) found Richard’s bathers in Australia when I last went home - and to his credit he just laughed and wears them 😊

Sorry but I have to comment on judes knitting, I'm a knitting widower 2rooms full of wool, expeditions to wool shops, she follows a Dutch bloke on KZbin a learned how to knitting holes and strange other styles of knitting. I didn't know that different cultures knitted differently like the Germans knit in a strange manner to the English. Has Jude got a large supply of wool and has Jude studied many different styles of knitting
@sailinghelios20235 ай бұрын
So sorry for your loss - oh wait, she’s still alive 🤣. We don’t have stashes of anything on a boat. No room even if we wanted to. We stumble across a shop occasionally and stock up for the next project but that’s all. When Jude’s knitting I’m usually at the helm or just watching the conditions. So it’s a nice peaceful time together. I asked her, she said she’s normally an English method knitter and switches to one colour Continental method, one English method when doing colour work (if that makes any sense to you). All the best. Thanks for reaching out.
