I listened to the original Star Wars vinyl record so many times as a child. It’s good to hear that Anne-Sophie thinks highly of the music of John Williams.

After 12 hours of work I asked Alexa to turn off the system, she started playing Across the Stars” at a very low volume, I started to pay attention because I heard a woman singing a very beautiful opera, I asked Alexa to turn up the volume, then I found out that it was a violin, after researching I discovered that it was you and your violin. Your work is fantastic, good health, long life!

Simply amazing collaboration, loved William's music from 1978 with Star Wars, love your view to play music with your "magic" violin, thanks!!! :)
As related in her NPR interview recently, Anne-Sophie was able to have her ex-husband (and still friend) Andre Previn intercede for her with John Williams to make this project possible. It seems that even at this level of artistic celebrity it helps to have a personal connection. We music lovers are most happy this could be arranged.

It was only this morning that I heard Anne-Marie's rendition of "Yoda's Theme" on KUSC...appropriately enough while I was reading my Star Wars book. Thank you so much for this beautiful music. And for John Williams, a living legend who has brought me countless years of joy from all of his scores.

@starwarsunfiltered78485 жыл бұрын
Which one? I've always had a soft spot for "The Asteroid Field." I would consider "Across The Stars" and "Luke And Leia" to be relative obscurities though. And really good ones.
@Jiwpgakis5 жыл бұрын
Sturm Antilles across the stars. He said he almost forgot about „this one“. It sounds like a classic romantic tune from even the romantic era, or an old classic from the 50s. It’s a huge melody , I think
@MagnsATK985 жыл бұрын
I agree, thought the same thing. Come to think of it though, I believe the cause of it is that John Williams rarely listen to his own music, he has said. In addition to that, because the prequels were disliked by many and often sort of glossed over in the Disney era, the Star Wars conserts he's conducted after the prequels, especially lately, have focused heavily on the original trilogy and sequels. Therefore it might just be a long time since he has been reminded of the piece. In the commentary for ep2 back in 02 though you can tell he really loves Across the Stars.

I am not in the music field in any way, but knew the principal double bass of the LA Phil (at that time, hes retired now as well I). I loved classical music and he offered to introduce me personally to JW backstage before a Hollywood Bowl gig. He and JW used to play in a jazz band when they were young and were lifelong friends. I had too many work commitments to cancel on short notice and decided not to go. My sister said I was nuts, should have called in sick! :/
