Thanks! I usually use Princeton or Royal & Langnickel, but any small detail brushes that don't shed when you tug the bristles will work just fine

Hi, Love this work. I am a self taught beginner, but still ambitious to try this foggy/dreamy look. Could you please comment : 1. If your canvas/white paint is wet when you try to smudge with dry brush ? 2. Do you need to clean the brush in between to avoid too much paint smeared? Thanks in advance!

hi yes & yes - if everything stays wet you will get that blended/foggy look much more easily. Try to clean off your brush as much as possible as you go so things don't get muddy & monotone.

exactly - if you are glazing with white, let the trees dry underneath first

I don't get a moment using a dry brush, my drawing just smears and looks like a spreading pleura and there is a lot of sand around. I drew on plain paper, maybe this is the case? 😢

The dry brush smooths everything out and gives a blur/mist effect to the background trees. That trick probably doesn't work for you because plain paper it is much more absorbent than a canvas.
