Yes your right now that it's cold in my house and my monomer consistency has changed. I use my small desk or table lamp (just the cheap one with flexible neck) to warm my monomer. I place the whole container under the lamp to warm the bottle up, or fill my dappen dish with monomer and point lamp above it to keep it warm, and omg it works so well 🙌🏼

Tip🙌🏼 First Use sanding band or filer to remove oil from nail, and instead of buying dehydrator you can make your ow. Mix half alcohol and half acetone and fill an old nail polish bottle and remove label. These are the main ingredients I've heard from professionals and it works soooo great. Then add your primer as usual. I have no problems with lifting and I don't have to buy one extra product!

You can use a coffee cup warmer for the monomer. They're really inexpensive.

For a warmer, u can use a mini waxing machine. Instead of wax put the monomer in a glass dapping dish find out what temp works but I would start very low.

For the people that dont want to buy a arcylic liquid warmer you can just boil some water, get a shot glass (plastic or glass) let the water cool down a bit, pour the water in the shot glass (not to the top) pour your liquid into ur dappen dish, and sit your dappen dish into the shot glass.

What about using a candle wax melter as a diy style warmer? I haven’t tried it but maybe that could work. Maybe not put it directly in the warmer well, perhaps put a dampen dish in the well. I’m not sure how warm it should be. I use gel, but I figured I’d mention the idea 👍

Jackie Cortez you can file that with an efile from the dollar store that will do the job. But after the 3rd fill is when you’d need a new set. Don’t get a 4th fill just get a brand new set. And that’s if you’re getting fills every 3 weeks.

It also depends on how fast your nails grow and what your job is. Like me for instance i am a daycare teacher so I wash, sanitize and lotion my hands alot i mean alot. So a week after I have done my nails I already need a fill from my nails growing. Alot of woman in the medical and cosmotology field get there nails done like every two wks. So in my opinion after your second fill (depending on how fast your nails grow) you should get a new set. Just my opinion!

For a monomer warmer you can use a small candle warmer but make sure it's not strong or you can make the monomer way too hot.

Hi Natalie! If I remember correctly, you do your clients nails out of your home? I’m curious about the business end of this. I have MS and am contemplating becoming a nail tech, but have days when leaving the house can be challenging. My youngest boys (twins) are graduating this year so I’m looking for a new career to keep me busy as I become an empty-nester. I was a nurse previously before receiving my MS diagnosis. Do you just look up your local laws as far as health codes, insurance, etc, or is this something that I would learn in nail tech school? I LOVE your teaching style! You explain everything so clearly and create beautiful art!

I highly suggest also using a dehydrator, I use a Mia secret nail dehydrator, it gets all the oils off of your nails and makes it perfect for long lasting gel application. Also, always make sure to rough up the natural nail a bit so the gel has something to grab onto.
