Acrylic Paint Pouring with cells | Rocktastic Arts

I love paint pouring, every time the outcome is different and no two rocks are ever the same. I can spend all day pouring paint on rocks and I wouldn't get bored. I use color shift paints, they give a special effect that normal acrylic paint don't give, and the outcome is beautiful. I mix the paint with Floetrol in a one to one ratio, after mixing put two dots of silicone and don't mix if you want bigger cells, mix a tiny bit if you want smaller cells. You always need to pour a paint on the rock first, I used white (the most common to use), and premixed gold and silver. The white I also mixed 1:1 ratio with the Floetrol, don't add silicone to the base paint or else you will get cell holes where you can see through to the rock. Thank you so much... the flotrol makes the paint more flowing so you can pour it without breaking the paint binds. The white is more like a spreading agent that helps the paint spread 💕

Thank you... I did show the back in my first couple of videos and then I didn’t want to bore the viewers so I stopped. If you go to my first couple of videos you will see how I do it... I actually do the back first but not when I do a pour because the paint that falls on the back needs to be sanded down when you’re doing a pour. After sanding I paint it black and varnish it.

How long does it take for the paint to dry before adding gloss? Do you recommend using heat to dry it quicker?

No heat to dry because that will dry the top and not the bottom then the paint will crack. It takes between 12 - 48 hours to dry depending on the type of paint you use… most of them are dry after 24 hours.
