I love sharks. I will definitely be trying this. And I didn’t know there was such a thing as different coloured carbon paper. What a life saver! Thank you for this informative tutorial. I have subscribed. 😊

I absolutely love sharks, and draw them all the time, but I can never get past the “ugly” phase when painting them, lol. This painting came out amazing and makes me want to give painting them another go.

Been working on this for 2 days now (in my off time). The instructions are amazing, everything is great. I just gotta redo the shading on my shark cause I’m struggling with the actual blending part. Right now it looks like my shark’s got a black stripe instead of a shadow lol.

I redid the shark and now it looks more like a shark in the ocean and less like a shark in a striped jersey. Awesome tutorial. Please do more like this for beginners with acrylics.

I use 2 different waters, one with a tiny bit of soap and the other is plain water. I’ll dunk brushes in soapy water and the rinse well and my good water stays cleaner longer). The reason I do that is bc I have my favorite brushes that use and if I am painting a darker color and rinse my brush (and have one water) and decide my highlights aren’t bright enough or I need to lighten something, then I don’t want to use that dark dirty water and dull down my brighter colors. I can tell a difference since I started doing that.. I heard that a very long time ago from I THINK from Chuck Black… and a lightbulb went off for me. I think everyone has different styles of painting. Some go dark to light, some go light to dark, some go background to foreground, and some go foreground to background (which is kinda silly to me, where you have to paint around something… just paint background and if subject in foreground needs to be light or bright, then use that stuff (can’t think of name right now) for oil paints that put a tape/film over the section so you don’t have to keep adding light layers to bring the highlights out. I’m probably not making sense but anyway… now there is a guy in KZbin and I won’t say his name, that uses blender brushes (makeup brushes) and dunks them in water and puts the paint straight on the canvas (not on the palette) now that’s freaking ridiculous and wasteful. But seems like a lot of flash art artist are doing that now… by flash art I mean the cartoony very little dimension- I used to tattoo and we would call the little and cheap tats ( aka a heart or 🍒 or banners with words, etc) pages of tattoos (easy and quick) we called them flash art.

I live in Taiwan and to save money I buy student grade acrylics. I have used Mona and Royal Talens and they stay wet for at least 4 hours.

Where do I get the shark to trace

It's linked in the video description 😊

No disrespect intended... but i wouldn't recommend tracing... source your own reference photo of a shark and sketch that. It will be WAY MORE rewarding and beneficial to your ability. Happy painting. ☀️🙂
