Thanks for the discussion of composition. I've been doing mainly abstracts for some time but they've been controlled and one of the things about this medium that's been bothering me is that it's so arbitrary. The pieces are often beautiful but there was no composition. This was a great discussion of it and the piece turned out beautiful.
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Sherry, I definitely have been bothered by the lack of composition in pours, both in my own as well as others i see. Once you get practiced on how to pour, it makes sense to start to be a bit more purposeful and have an end product in mind. That's also why I came up with the Double Dirty Pour Landscape, it automatically gives the piece some definition.
@StudioPashnada7 жыл бұрын
Caren Goodrich right now I'm just starting and practicing but I can't really think of them as anything but backgrounds LOL My brain is coming up with ideas tho ...

Recently stumbled upon your videos, and watched several of them. Love this process! I saw you use watercolor paper to "clean up" the dripped paint after you finish, but can't find a video telling what you do with those papers once you have them. (I think you mentioned showing that in a future video, but I have no clue where to find it!) Thanks :)

Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and artistic eye. Do you know of any way to get cells without chemicals?

Monica Eggleton yes if you practice with different paint densities. Thinner paint rises up through thicker paint to create cells.

Billie Du I use pouring medium. One part Paint, 3 parts pouring medium, and a dash of water. I cover the basics in another video. You can buy a cheap pouring medium at the hardware store called Floetrol. It is a paint additive found in the house paint section.
