I’m so happy to learn how to use the resin in the Mika powder. I would love to see how you set your pieces up to dry with the cardboard lid and the foil lining. Would it be possible for you to show us a little video of how you set that up? I love watching you I’m learning so much. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise

WOW, can the mica powder be mixed with glue and water instead?
@itsOnlyOlivia
@itsOnlyOlivia 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it can. I've tried it out as a faux resin before. The glue I used was Elmer's school glue and it dried mostly opaque so it didnt have that depth that resin has. I bet if you try a glue that dries clear, it would be an adequate substitute 😀

The result is lovely, but I was hoping for an acrylic pour, like you said in the title. It's easy to mix with resin, but i can't seem to get mica powders to mix with acrylic pouring medium.
@ClaudiasCreationsbyCP
@ClaudiasCreationsbyCP 4 жыл бұрын
I use mica powders in acrylic pours all the time. When i use mica solely as a color I mix in just a little 'mixing fluid' to wet it then pouring medium or if I want to add the mica shimmer to a flat acrylic I mix it up first then add a little of mica either interference gold or a similar powder color. I do believe though the finer the mica the better it mixes. hope that helps :)

Sir can it be done on glass ??
@JohnFranklinArt
@JohnFranklinArt 4 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried it on glass yet. It should work. In order for the epoxy resin to adhere to the glass, it may be necessary to lightly sand / roughen it. You do this, for example, when you apply several layers of epoxy resin on top of each other. The lower hard epoxy resin layer is lightly sanded so that the new one adheres better to it. greetings john
