These are fabulous! I've worked with this type of the technique in subtle ways thirtysomething years ago in college. But with the colors that we have today and the new liquid acrylic mediums, you have inspired me to try this again! I am so excited!! Thank you for sharing this ...

Simply gorgeous! The techniques on their own may be simple but the way you layer on the effects is stunning. I'm wondering what else I could do with it, but I love it how it is and how it looked 2/3rds the way through. Can't wait to have a try. Thank you.

wieder wundervolles Bild. ☺

lovely, what kind of ethanol do you use?
@GerdaLipski Жыл бұрын
I use high percentage denatured bio ethanol
@pinaulaurence38183 жыл бұрын
Hello ..thank you for your inspirational works .. What kind of white do you use ? transparent one ? thank you
@GerdaLipski3 жыл бұрын
I mostly use titanium white, but apply it very thinly
@rogercawkwell54135 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your tutorials Gerda! I have just started experimenting with alcohol dripping but I only have 70% strength at the moment & get almost no effect. Do you think I should get 99%?
@GerdaLipski5 жыл бұрын
Hello Roger, I don´t think that it is due to alcohol. Maybe you're experimenting a little with diluting the paint (mixing more or less water). I suspect that you have diluted too little. The surface should shine, but there should be no puddles.
@rogercawkwell54135 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your prompt reply Gerda (& in English too - Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Deutsch!) I take your point about dilution & will experiment with that more, however I went out to the pharmacy today and found some 99.99% alcohol (so precise!) and now I am getting something like your effects.
@tzviaevrysukenik17885 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem. Getting no affect with the alcohol.
@rogercawkwell54135 жыл бұрын
I have since found that getting the dilution right is the key, so I can get effects now with 70% though the 99% effect is more marked.
@joystclaire5 жыл бұрын
Roger can you explain? I too had no result with the alcohol & am using 91% I'm guessing the top layer has to be very diluted? Almost like watercolor?
@winnie22225 жыл бұрын
This is beautiful! When I've tried this technique, it only works with watercolor for me!? Acrylic paint doesn't give me cells. What am I doing wrong? Sending love from Austin Texas 😘

@GerdaLipski6 жыл бұрын

@skparker46045 жыл бұрын
So is your bottle of Binder a GEL medium with water or? Just wondering.
@GerdaLipski5 жыл бұрын
Hello Steve, acrylic binder is an acrylic Dispersion. You can buy it in different sorts, some are fluid, some are semi-fluid and they all have different characteristics (glossy, mat, semi-mat…) I use fluid glossy binder.
@skparker46045 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the clarification. You would be surpried how many people do not know what "Binder" is. Love your work Gerda. I know many talented artists but right now you are one of my favorites. @@GerdaLipski

@GerdaLipski6 жыл бұрын
Brennspiritus / Etanol. Bekommt man im Drogerie- , Baumarkt, Supermarkt .

@rosanneridler38126 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerda, l was wondering if you could help me, I tried this twice, both times I could see the brush marks clearly and the yellow colours became very dingy when I added the alcohol. So the picture is mainly dull greeny browny blue and not at all beautiful like yours. Interesting but definitely not pretty and very matt . Is the wetness of the paint crucial?
@GerdaLipski6 жыл бұрын
Follow the instructions in the video. The yellow paint must be diluted with water. This yellow layer hast to dry completely before you apply the blue
@shelleyperks88372 жыл бұрын
I have tried this technique with red colors and the effect is not as good as it is with the blues. Do you have any recommendations on how to make the red work?
@GerdaLipski2 жыл бұрын
You You could mix a dark red, maybe red and a little black (very little). If the red is dark and the colour underneath is very bright and luminous, it will work.
@margarethekersten63944 жыл бұрын
@GerdaLipski4 жыл бұрын
@claudiamikolajczak6545 жыл бұрын
Was habe ich falsch gemacht?
@GerdaLipski5 жыл бұрын
@user-bp4nc6eu9y5 жыл бұрын
