ACS Call Center Murders Part 1: Donna Paradis (Lewiston, ME)
SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.co...
This week, we go back to our roots in Lewiston, Maine, to discuss an extremely tragic case that occurred in the fall 2007 at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) - where Yergy and Drewby first met and worked for years. When Donna Paradis, a pregnant mother of two was offered an affordable used car from her coworker Richard Dwyer, the gesture seemed like a godsend. But this seemingly kind gesture soon turned into a nightmare that rocked the city of Lewiston, and Affiliated Computer Services to it's core.

If only every victim of murder could have someone to advocate for them the way you two do for the folk that you talk about. Too many people just get swept under the rug and forgotten about. It's a shameful thing. Thanks for giving them a voice.

As a Mainer, born and raised (grew up in the Bangor/Old Town area, and then moved down to Portland in 2016 and currently reside in Biddeford) I SO appreciate these videos regarding murders in Maine. I think most of us as Mainers believe that we live in a very safe state, but I’m starting to believe that there may be the biggest lack of reporting on murders when it comes to the state of Maine. Most of these cases you guys have covered IVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT and I’ve lived in different parts of Maine my entire life. This coverage is important and I thank you.

Y'all do a great job. Of course KZbin is for viewing. Exposure not fame, duh! I love Maine cases. If you put Maine crimes into KZbin, y'all are the basis of that search. These are important. I've had people ask me if Maine is a town in VA lol. So the exposures are freaking important. Y'all put a lot of work into these. Call centers in general (and collection agencies in particular, I've been told) attract people with criminal backgrounds because they're literally the jobs that no one wants and the turnover is massive. Closest thing I ever worked to a call center was a work study job at my college where we would harass alumni at dinner time using a pre-written script (and it was the clunkiest shit imaginable) to donate to our annual fund. Apparently, the school desperately needed the monies despite sky-high tuition rates and a fairly popular sports program (for division 3 anyway). Somehow I lasted a couple weeks before I noped out and vowed never to take another job like that again, no matter how dire the circumstances.

@@TheMiseryMachine I had to delete that asscrap job from my resume after I graduated. Despite having work experience in other things, pretty much everyone who found my resume online would only call me about some telemarketing bullshit because of that ballsack work study job. I'm 100% sincere when I say that my heart really does go out to people who, for one reason or another, find themselves unable to do anything else but that kind of job for a living because that life sounds like a waking nightmare.

The repetitive nature grinds you down into the ground and creates this weird distancing from the humanity of the customers you talked to. This creates a culture of people who will literally do anything, no matter how dirty to get off the phones. Not just sexual favors, people have done ridiculously backstabby things at the mere hope of getting a dollar extra an hour, including planting things on a person they were in competition with and reporting them to the cops so that way there was an extra person out of the running for an unofficial team lead position, which meant more time off the phones. When I was an acting supervisor, I met a countless number of people who were a paycheck from the street and had to go to bat often for people so they wouldn't get caught up in the sweeping firing sprees that happened. Did I mention that allegedly ACS also fought every unemployment case they possible could out of spite? Even though unemployment cost them nothing, they still fought it as an extra fuck you to employees. Allegedly. I don't know how much I can say on this. Awful, awful place - Drewby

This mans father was my downstairs neighbor when I was a little girl. He molested me. The man who murdered the innocent pregnant woman dated my mother’s best friend and not only abused her, but punched my mother in the face when her friend attempted to flee to my mother’s house, but also, about 5 years after that incident and 10 years before the murder, was convicted of a rape on the bridge at Bonney Park in Auburn, Maine. This man and his entire family is evil. His brother also murdered someone I found out many years later. I was just the unlucky one to move in upstairs.

I promise it's coming. Some updates on it: We got some people to finally talk to us, and we have someone from a big channel (100k+ subs) who was there for the case too who would like to speak on it. I now feel like we're moving in a direction where I can do that case justice. We are in the process of moving, but after that is done we will be able to resume focus on that full speed. ❤️

You all remind me so much of myself when I was growing up…except I was born in 75. I used to live in a punk house in Washington D.C. where the likes of Fugazi (good friends of my bro who was in Nation of Ulysses and married to the drummer from Slant 6) would stop by. 😆. It was me and my boyfriend (the drummer from the Metamatics), Ted Leo (now from Ted Leo and the Pharmacists) some band members from Slant 6 and about 6 other people that lived there! It was the funnest house ever. My best friend was named Drew, but I called him “Drewby”. I bet we’d be good friends if I had known you all. ✌🏼

Oh my Godddd. Yergy and I both lived in separate punk houses in Maine for a period of time in our late teens, but never in a place with such a thriving music scene like DC. I listened to so much Nation of Ulysses and Fugazi in high school. That must have been such a blast! I'm sure we would have all been great friends. Punk house living is truly a one of a kind experience - Drewby

@@TheMiseryMachine nice! Yeah, it was amazing. Some of the best times of my life were spent living in DC. I used to also attend Riot Girl meetings and met a lot of good people through there, as well as the shows I went to. When my bro transitioned from NOU to The Make Up, my parents even attended one of their shows. 😊 There’s also a pic in my parent’s living room of my Mom posing with NOU when she had invited them over for dinner. Good times for sure! I miss it.

i've been binge watching you guys all day today while doing house work & i had left a comment on another video of how your city is doppelganger of mine . Since i left that comment however so many more weird coincidences ! I got the chills when you said it's known as the "Dirty Lew" my city Waterbury CT is know as "Dirty Water" !!! You also mentioned the hospital being called "St Mary's" we also have a Saint Mary's Hospital , you mentioned Highland Ave which we have Highland ave (maybe its not that crazy but Highland Ave is like the main street people bring up around here almost every convo pertaining to something/somewhere in Waterbury Highland ave is mentioned) and just so many other weird coincidences like that . This isn't a place that would be any fun to visit but you guys would be so weirded out if you were ever here ! i am not exaggerating at all when i say it's so scarily similar .

I live in Lewiston…Idaho. Which also has a sister city like your Lewiston in Maine. Lewiston ID is across the Snake River from Clarkston Washington. The area is referred to as the LC Valley. The area was named from the Lewis-Clark expedition to the west. Tons of history here.

The Big Apple stores in Kennebec county, Augusta and Waterville have also had serious problems. Every single one has been robbed- even though the sign on the doors say "no more than $50 on site" smh. Also shootings & used to park & run because waterville is next door to a bank & 2 hotels where bad things have happened. I'll also say, Big Apple doesn't always employ the finest citizens, js.

Fun fact about call centers, most don't vet their employees and they all have your financial info. I worked at different 2 ones and they are not secure. Have family member that successfully used stolen credit card bank info to purchase a bunch of online crap, AT&T just fired her when busted, to keep their company out of eye of scrutiny. She was able to work another center pulling the same crap
