Looks superb Dave. was just watching this and i heard "and how much is that one" from the chair to the right!! Still loving my MK1. waiting to see the upcoming videos with review of your (!) new features in depth. Interested to see the flush lever, dump valve etc

Hi Dave, is this going to be your 'forever' machine now ( given the several special additions)? How do you think it compares with the Elizabeth?
@DaveCorbey5 ай бұрын
It will be...there is no comparison with Elizabeth, very different machine.

@@DaveCorbeyI can see that it is. Clearly a machine for experts and those who appreciate fine engineering as well allowing for a wide range of variation in the whole process from start to finish. But.. does it make better coffee for a less sophisticated user?

Hi Michael. I'm a guy who has had pod machines, Nespresso's, bean to cup, sage/breville dual boiler, Synchronika, Vesuvius E61 and eventually Evo Mk1 Leva. I had the same common misconceptions as you that they are you nerds and are complicated to use and wish i had been given a chance to try the leva some years earlier. The leva machine is just so much easier and more forgiving than any of the other machines i have had. My next machine will be the Mk2. I have produced some poor shots due to grind being way off the mark but never a Bad shot. You can see from the gauge within 5 seconds of lifting the lever how the shot will go and have the option to "rescue" the shot by increasing or decreasing the pressure by gently helping the lever. Normally you just let it do its thing. Its a machine that is and has been so undersold in my opinion. All i can say is if it sparks your interest buy it. you will not be disappointed. But if you are I will buy it! (assuming UK!!). The only reason i do not have one on order is my current Evo has been with me only around 8 months and ive been banned from large coffee related purchases until 2025 :)

@@adrianmichaelsmith Thank you for this detailed and interesting reply Adrian. Having just upgraded to two Elizabeths (one in UK one in France) and A couple of Eureka Mignon grinders I am not in the market at the moment. Previously I have, like you, quite a few machines (Gaggia Classic, Ascaso Dream (didn't like it much as not pressure venting), Ascaso Duo (non PID) and several grinders I am settled for a while with the current setup which I like and find easy to use . I have also used cafetière, Vacuum system, and filter. The smoothest coffee comes from the Bodum vacuum device which is fun to use. The Elizabeth has the best milk foamer I have used so far. The ACS Leva certainly looks the business and seems to combine advanced technology and flexible pre-programmed profiles with a traditional lever system. I would be a bit concerned about potentially complicated cleaning since it seems to use an E61 head. Does it need stripping and greasing after backflushing. Cleaning and backflush for the Elizabeth is very easy and effective and I very rarely need to strip the head down and soak the parts in cleaning fluid as I had to with the other machines. Maybe one to think about for a future upgrade in a few years.

It's not in any way an e61 head as far as I am aware it's based on the san Marco similar to my v1 but has had the flush lever, auto dump valve feature and safety system added amongst other wizardry ....
